What truly defines High Bluff Campground is its emphasis on a rustic, back-to-basics camping experience. This is not a resort-style park with endless amenities; rather, it celebrates the simplicity and beauty of primitive camping. The miles of dirt road leading to the campground contribute significantly to its remote and quiet ambiance, ensuring that noise pollution is kept to a minimum. This natural buffer allows visitors to fully immerse themselves in the sounds of the wilderness, from the gentle rustle of leaves to the calls of local wildlife. It’s a clean and well-maintained site, reflecting a commitment to preserving its natural charm for all to enjoy.
While it offers a more rugged experience, High Bluff Campground still provides key features that enhance your outdoor adventure. For instance, its excellent fishing opportunities, whether from the convenient dock or by bringing your own boat to the ramp, make it a favorite among anglers. The peaceful environment is conducive to relaxation, allowing you to truly unwind. While some campsites may be smaller or closer together, a bit of planning, perhaps reserving a couple of adjacent spaces if privacy is a top priority, can easily mitigate this. The absence of showers is a known aspect that campers are aware of, adding to the primitive feel, yet it’s a feature that visitors hope might be added in the future. Overall, High Bluff Campground offers a genuine and peaceful retreat for those who appreciate nature in its more untouched form.

Great spot for primitive camping. Miles of dirt road makes it quiet and remote. Great fishing on the dock or bring your boat to the ramp.
May 18, 2025 · AceBeautiful place to camp, very peaceful. Some of the campsites are small and close together, so ya may want to reserve a couple of spaces if you like privacy. No showers (we knew this ahead of time) available and that would definitely be a plus for the future! Overall it was clean and quiet!
Apr 06, 2021 · Sweet TVery quiet primitive campground. No water or electricity. Just the way we Alaskan motorcycle campers like it.
Dec 18, 2024 · bill carSweet spot tucked back in the woods. Water access but watch for Gators!
Mar 19, 2025 · JenniferGet quiet place to check out of the city for a few days. Have a 4 wheel Drive truck going down dirt road. It does turn into major mudin situation if you're trapped in the rain.
