Hidden Springs Campground

17119 Avenue of the Giants, Weott, CA 95571, USA

4.0
Everything was fine save for the utter refusal to help us from any staff. There was a campsite not too far from ours who had two dogs chained to trees that would not stop whining. We asked the folks at the kiosk every day for help, and we're always told "theres nothing we can do" they couldnt give us any contact with rangers and refused to contact them on our behalf. However i guess this does mean you cam show up here and party however late and loud you want! - Tanner “The rock” Ledin

Hidden Springs Campground is known for its incredible setting, offering direct access to the iconic Avenue of the Giants, a renowned scenic bypass that winds through groves of colossal redwoods. While the sheer beauty of the location is undeniable, potential visitors should be aware of some common feedback regarding the campground experience. Some past visitors have expressed concerns about the booking process, particularly the perceived difficulty in securing last-minute sites, with some suggesting that the online reservation system (Rec/gov) might favor advanced bookings over spontaneous arrivals. This has led to calls for a return to a "first-come, first-serve" system to better accommodate travelers along Highway 1 and the Avenue of the Giants who might not plan months in advance.

Additionally, a few reviews mention challenges with on-site staff assistance regarding disruptive neighboring campers. It's important for visitors to understand that while staff may have limitations on what actions they can directly take, the expectation is for a peaceful and respectful camping environment. Despite these specific points of feedback, the overall allure of camping among these ancient giants remains a powerful draw.
