Access to the campground involves a distinctive approach. Visitors will navigate approximately a 3/4-mile-long, single-lane, compacted road base dirt road. Hidden Marina & Campground Reviews
We stayed for a month in February 2025: There is no campground map to confirm this, but there are likely about 60 total sites with maybe about 20 designated for transients. The rest are all seasonal. However, they were adding RV and cabin sites while we were there. We were placed in Site #9 "Down Front". There are (6) back-in sites in this row just behind the cabins. The sites are compacted road base, not very level but okay. There were some big trees all around us, but it was not affecting too us much. We had a nice but limited view of the river in between the cabins. The FHU's were good, and the power was fine. We had a 50Amp plug only, no circuit breaker & no 30A or 15A receptacles. The water was good, but the pressure dipped when opening a faucet. I also noticed that when showering, the soap doesn't rinse off easily. It seems that the water has been treated likely for hard water. There are laundry facilities on-site. I didn't use it. It has a nice pool area and a covered picnic area at the pool. Again, it was February, so we didn't use this facility. The campground is surprisingly large and full too. The access road is about 3/4-mile-long single lane compacted road base dirt road. It's okay. You just need to go slow. And if another car is coming that other way, both cars must move to the edge of the crowned road to pass. Hopefully, two RVs don't meet up! There is a gate with a push-button code at the entrance to the campground. At the end of the 3/4-mile long dirt road. The marina docks are in pretty good shape, with a new bridge to the docks. And there is a boat launch ramp if you bring your boat. Check with the campground first. The center of Georgetown is only about 10 minutes away. Good parking and free too. The town was surprisingly busy. A nice boardwalk on the river with boat slips and restaurants along the way. And the traffic is light getting there. International Paper and Liberty Steel, which are on the way to town, have both recently shut down, likely easing the traffic during rush hour. No propane filling at the campground, no Wi-Fi either, but very good cell service. The location is very quiet and peaceful. At least while we were here in February. No traffic noise, slight distance in-frequent train noise, and no airplane noise! A rarity at campgrounds. Pawley Island is only about 30 minutes away. Myrtle Beach is an hour away, and Charleston is about 1 1/2 hours away. I would stay again.
Feb 25, 2025 · Jim JacksonWe had a great time. Clean campground and a wonderful staff. Camped and kept our boat at the marina.
May 05, 2025 · Randy Brownloved having the chance to hangout with my friends there!! it's a beautiful campground.
Jun 24, 2025 · vickie*DO NOT STAY HERE*If I could rate this place zero stars I would. Absolutely the worst experience in dealing with a campground I have ever had. We travel for work and stayed here for the longest 9 months of my life due to no other options available in the area. The bathrooms and laundry room are disgusting. The road in is in terrible shape. But I really want to highlight how truly horrible the management is. The office manager is the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. They treat their customers like they are beneath them. They allow the children related to them to bully other children and drive golf carts way too fast even though the rules state that no one under the age of 16 is allowed. Basically the rules don’t apply if you are related to them or know them. If you enjoy being treated like you are an inconvenience, being screamed at for using the laundry room, having rocks thrown at your children and overall hostility then stay here! If not I would stay FAR away! These people have no respect for their business or people
May 19, 2025 · Emma LaneIf I could give this place no stars I would because my daughter and her Girl Scout troop went here for there end of the year trip 6/27-6/29/25 and it was a complete disaster. The cabins stoves does not work which posed a safety risk for the girls and they could not cook their meals due to eyes on the stove not working and the monitor on the stove was caved in falling out of the dwelling. Also, microwave was filthy and not clean, no hot water at all mainly cold showers the whole weekend, dead spiders beside the microwave, one other cabin that our troop was occupying was infested with either bugs or bed bugs, pool had algae in it’s the kids were swimming so no chlorine in pool to keep away germs, and the whole weekend was a complete disaster just because we stayed in this awful place. The pictures on the website made it look unbelievable until we got there and we really saw how terrible this place was. I felt low on the totem pole to be staying in a place like this. Also, there was no WIFI so the kids were miserable. The cabins were hot because the HVAC system worked in one room and it was hot everywhere else.Dogs wandering around with no leashes and I was scared. For future trips I hope we never have this bad experience again furthermore if any other Girl Scout trips be here, me and my daughter will refrain from coming.
