Hidden Lakes Family Campground Reviews
My wife and I have been staying here for a couple of years now, and have stayed a few times this spring alone. Those who run the place are very friendly, and we have had no issues. They are doing some remodeling, from what I have seen and been told, but it is more of a family-friendly place, meant to be calm and quiet. If you book, review the rules for the place. My wife and I enjoy staying in places where there is no noise of dogs always barking at everyone who walks by. As I have seen in some other posts, you may need to plan (in some Cases) to position your camper further back, as some sites are longer for larger rigs or closer to the edge of the lot to hook up water and electricity.
Jun 02, 2025 · James PortaWe were scheduled to camp for the weekend on our way home to New England; however, there was so much rain that the road leading to the campground was flooded. Despite their policy of no refunds for any reason, I would expect an Act of God, like flooding, to be an exception. There was no guarantee of a dry site if we could get through the road. This situation forced us to make other camping plans on the fly since we are traveling to New England! The staff were friendly enough and offered another reservation this season, but we will not be back in the area this season. Too bad because it seemed like a lovely place to visit. Camper Beware.
Jun 15, 2025 · Mara BriereToo cold to swim, we can’t wait to come back when it warms up. Gorgeous sites, very safe and family friendly. Pretty lake front site and super clean bathhouses. Can’t wait to come back soon.
May 27, 2025 · Taylin RuheWe loved this campground and it was perfect for us! Hidden gem!! We found off from hip camp. This is campground is not for the faint at heart! A true nature/wildlife and fisherman’s delight for camping to get away from the noise, hustle, bustle technology, and to slow down. This campground respects its land and wildlife and protects its quiet area by its very strict rules. ( read the rules and understand them)The small red firelights at night makes it for a true camping experience to appreciate the noises that nature holds. Bring a flashlight there are no bright electrical bright lights anywhere expect the front entrance. The dark sky star gazing tops off this experience by allowing toget up and close with nature. We were able to relax and decompress.Spacious lots and plenty of free space from the neighbors, it truly provides a nice relaxing experience. There is tent and group camping so those spaces are closer together. Few sites have sewer. Rest have Water and electricity. (did not take photos of the group sites, just where I was at.) there are options for pull through and it is spacious enough for big rigs and mega rigs. The hose at the dump was just not usable (the ends were not screwable to attach a hose for proper dump and clean out). We were able to dump but not dump fully. We stopped at the blue Heron Service plaza with 100% RV amenities. That was on our way home and was able to do a full clean dump. Flying J also had dumps for cost.Friendly service from the hosts/owners.It was one of my favorite places to have been. They did have activity planned for the kids. Comfy from being away fromHome with amenities to make it a great stay. Their welcoming center has basic needs in their store. They have three ponds (two for fishing) that allows paddle boats, kayaks and canoes. One lake as a beach for swimming and they allow the dog in the beach lakes.(They are pet breed specific on what they allow, check with them to see if your dog would be allowed)They have a pool and a small playground for the kiddos in the front by the welcoming center. It does have a gate pass to get in keeping it private in this super safe area.A grocery store is within 6Min and dollar tree down the street. Over 10miles are the bigger shopping stores.Zeppes pizza 15 min away and highly recommend it!Close to Lake Erie and within 5 area lighthouses within an hr. drive and other attractions and an hr from clevland. There are outhouses to use and a super nice shelter in back with shower space with large stalls with hot water. there is also a pavillion that is set up with basketball and horsehoes. Please note: we just got there after a huge rainfall. All sites were pretty much level and the roads and lots were well graded. The land was Maintained and lanscaped beautifully, The lots are gravel, Grass sites for tent campers. Some sites were flooded out and some of the grounds were flooded and it was muddy drive through they can't control the rain, but they did a great job grading. The roads were ok to pull through.Muds great for the kids and dogs LOLWe have US cellular and had 1 bar but still had access. That was never a concern for us.We would absolutely camp here again, the quietness is glorious!
May 29, 2025 · Julie G (Pixgeek Photography)What a sweet find! This place offers comfortable sized spots, beautiful ponds, and so quiet! Showers and bathrooms. Dump station only, but the views make it worth it.
