Hayward KOA Holiday Reviews
We won't be coming back here. They have crammed so my sites into the campground it's miserable. Sitting at our fire pit we were literally ten feet away from the site next to us... Sitting at our picnic table, we were three feet from the site next to us! We had to whisper half the time so we didn't interrupt our neighbors. There was nowhere to park at our site either. We had to park in the "streets" they have created between sites. Thankfully we didn't bring a second vehicle.I have camped at many pet friendly campgrounds before, this place is a whole different level. There was one dog that would bark from 6am to sun down. It was very aggressive barking and lunging at people walking by. Staff would walk/ride by and act like nothing was happening. That dog barked the ENTIRE weekend. There was a second dog right next to the playground and office that barked the ENTIRE day and until midnight Friday night and 10pm Saturday night. They did nothing! All we heard was barking the whole weekend. Every five minutes, excessive barking. My whole family was so upset by the time we left because they allow people's dogs to bark uncontrollably.Half the staff was confused what was going on, forgetting to drop stuff off that was ordered to the site, not knowing answers to questions about their facility and stuff they offer, and then ping-ponging us to different staff because no one knew the answers. It felt very frazzled and frantic at times asking the staff questions or needing help with something.
Jun 09, 2025 · Nadine SandeWe had this KOA booked in Hayward and looking forward to our stay! We checked in, wonderful staff and everything looked well kept. Unfortunately we had an emergency and had to leave just after checking in. The gentleman at the desk was very nice and understanding and appreciated his kindness. This experience alone will make me wanting to come back and I would recommend staying at this location. I was disappointed I was not able to experience more, but maybe next time! Highly recommend!
Jul 05, 2025 · Kevin DeanThis was my 4th location for staying at KOAs and was my least favourite. Staff wasn’t as involved as other locations and they seemed to drive around and chat a lot. I found this location a dirty and the pool was gross. Cigarette butts and cloudy water, garbage bins over flowing. The amenities is what drew my attention. The slide was great and they had activities for the kids.
Jul 08, 2025 · Jessica McAdamGreat KOA with Lots for the Kiddo’s to do. I’d compare it to the Palmer’s Gulch KOA in SD. Check out the photos. My family did the tubing, they have cannons and kayaks too!The food was Amazing! The Farmers Market on Saturday sets the best mood for the day. The girl running it was a sweetheart(thank you for the cherries🥰).Everything was very clean and well kept.Kids had the option on site of the waterslide, pool 9ft, basketball, tetherball, playground, mini golf, bounce pad, horse shoes, character drawings, and lots of Activities!!Top add a cherry to the top of this cake, the staff was so welcoming and kind.We will definitely be back.Thank you for setting a stage, so we could give our kiddos an affordable retreat.
Jun 30, 2025 · Nea S.At the time of this review, we are currently camping at this KOA. The KOA website says that the pools are heated by Propane fuel and are balmy temperature. That couldn't be further from the truth, the pool is colder then most campgrounds we go to. Also, you have to pay $8.00 a person to go down the big slide only 5 times. The mini putt course is old and falling apart, but yet they still charge $3.00 per person. The bathrooms at the main building have plumbing issues. The pedal gokarts aren't free, like they are at most places. The campsites are super tight and you have to move the fire pit around to use, to get distance from your awning. Better wifi is available from Skywebwifi and it's quite spotty, so beware of spending the extra money. Bring your wallet for all of the extras.
