It's important to note that the area has seen its share of natural challenges, with past fires impacting the surrounding landscape. - Trail Hub: Happy Hollow is a significant hub for various trail user groups, including mountain bikers, OHVers, hunters (during season), equestrians, hikers, and backpackers. The Santa Cruz Trail, a popular route in the Southern Los Padres, converges here, making it an ideal base for extensive explorations.
- Rustic Wilderness Experience: Unlike highly developed campgrounds, Happy Hollow offers a more primitive and authentic wilderness experience. It encourages self-reliance and a deeper appreciation for the natural environment.
- Scenic Views: While parts of the surrounding area have been affected by past fires, the camp still offers glimpses of the rugged beauty of the Los Padres National Forest, including views towards Little Pine Mountain. The returning saplings promise a renewal of its lush, green glory over time.
- Wildlife Observation: Being within a national forest, campers have the opportunity to observe local wildlife and experience the sounds of nature.
- Opportunity for Solitude: Despite being a trail hub, Happy Hollow can offer periods of relative solitude, particularly outside of peak hunting seasons, allowing for peaceful contemplation and enjoyment of nature.

Happy Hollow Camp Reviews
The fire has deviated the area. Toilet is still good. Campground just needs traffic. Santa Cruz trail is almost done being resurrected. We were allowed access to fire roads for bringing the trail Back to life. Enjoy!
