Greensboro KOA Journey Reviews
This was the first interaction I have ever had with a KOA. We planned a trip across several states and decided to stay at KOA sites due to their proximity to the interstate and ease of booking. We planned our trip in our recently acquired schoolie and had a few mechanical problems, causing our first night to be spent in a truck stop instead of the KOA that we reserved, and to be late getting to this one. When we finally got to the site, the main office was closed, so I called the number listed on my reservation, to receive no answer. my wife and I were talking about what our next steps were when a lady came over asking what we were doing there. I said we had a reservation and were trying to find our site number. She then told me that we couldn't stay there because we were in a bus and it was loud. Apparently, this old B doesn't realize that engines get quieter when you shut them off because she just kept saying that we were too loud and we couldn't stay there since my bus (which is licensed and registered as a motor home) wasn't recognized as a proper RV. I looked back at the reservation and campsite information and didn't see anything about them being too conceited to allow us peasants with buses on their royal grounds. They did refund my money, which in my opinion was the least they could do since they ran us off like we were a bunch of infectious miscreants, forcing us to drive well into the next morning before we could find a place to stay since it was Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend. Oh, and in case you are wondering why you won't see this review on the KOA website, they won't let you review campsites if your reservation is cancelled. To clarify some things in the owners response, yes it was late but not quite 10pm. My Google maps time stamp shows me at your location between 9:45 and 9:56 PM. Also if your employee would have asked to see my paperwork, she would have seen that my bus is licensed, titled and insured as a motor home but she would rather assume than verify. No other camp site has any problems with our vehicle including other KOAs.
Jun 09, 2025 · Arthur HarlemanReally enjoyed our stay. Even from the first phone call to find out about the different sites available, the gentleman was super friendly and even gave us some information where to find local places to visit. We are so glad he did, we ended up spending an afternoon at the Greensboro Science Center and the kids had an awesome time exploring! When we arrived after hours it was very easy to grab our packet that was waiting for us and continue on to our site. Our check in envelope had cute little stickers on it and one said Happy Camper, such a sweet welcome. Little things like that do not go unnoticed and make you feel welcomed. Our site was fine with a picnic table and fire pit and exactly what we needed after a long drive. The KOA was also very clean and had a cute dog park for our fur baby to run and play. We felt very safe and had three great nights of sleep. All in all, a great stay, safe, slept great, clean area, felt welcomed and you really can’t put a price on that!
Apr 07, 2025 · Denise “Niecie T”It was awesome but very close to the highway so if the sounds of trucks and cars swishing by bothers you you may not wanna be here, I was raised in Boston lots of traffic and rescue vehicles in the background so it didn’t bother me much. The bathrooms were very clean and management was really nice, lots of kids playing and nice dog park
Jun 12, 2025 · Lorelei CarterThis Koa has very un-level lots and is way over priced. The manager Wendy is very unprofessional. There are no amenities. The freeway noise is extremely loud and we had to buy our own tools to maintain the lot. We ordered a mattress and the manager turned the driver away saying a box truck is too loud yet there were workers there cutting down tree branches and grinding them.
Jun 10, 2025 · Eliezer MayaStaff was very nice. Our problem was the space for the trailer was very close on both sides. The sewer was at the side of our picnic table. The other side was no better. When they were at their table you could smell what they were smoking, couldn't open our windows. I don't like complaining but for a nights stay price not worth it
