Golden Pond Campground

Campground ★4.0

1145 Keeners Pl, Salisbury, NC 28146, USA

4.0
Stayed here for 6mo while working as a travel nurse. Nice private setting with two stocked ponds for fishing, most sites have a concrete patio. This is a long-term RV Park suited to people working locally but it is well maintained and everyone is very friendly. It has small two machine laundry facility and aging bathhouse, but there is a laundromat and Food Lion about 10m away in Spencer. The manager Todd is great and easy going, you'll have to call him about a spot as they seem to keep a wait-list. Also, no dog park but they are pet friendly without breed restrictions and areas to walk, just let them know. - Kimberly Sefcik

Golden Pond Campground is located at 1145 Keeners Place, Salisbury, NC 28146, USA. This address places it just south of I-85, offering a balance of peaceful seclusion and convenient access to the surrounding areas of Salisbury and Rowan County.

For North Carolina residents, Salisbury is centrally located within the state, making Golden Pond Campground relatively accessible from various regions. It's approximately an hour's drive from Charlotte and Greensboro, making it a viable option for those working in the Triad or Mecklenburg County areas but preferring a quieter, more affordable living arrangement. The campground is described as "several miles South of I-85," indicating that while it's not directly on the interstate, it's a manageable drive for arrivals and departures.

While one review mentions it being "somewhat difficult to find" and having an "all gravel road," subsequent information suggests improved wayfinding, and it is accessible even for larger RVs. The property emphasizes its "private setting," meaning it's tucked away from busy highways, contributing to its peaceful ambiance. Despite its private feel, essential amenities and services are within easy reach. A laundromat and a Food Lion grocery store are noted as being "about 10m away in Spencer," which is a short, convenient drive for daily needs. This blend of a quiet, private location with practical accessibility to nearby towns makes Golden Pond Campground a pragmatic choice for long-term RVers seeking a balanced lifestyle in North Carolina.

Golden Pond Campground is primarily tailored for long-term RV stays, offering services that cater to residents rather than transient campers.

  • Full Hook-Up RV Sites: All sites are equipped with full hook-ups, including 30 and 50 amp power, water, and sewer connections. This is essential for extended living in an RV.

  • Concrete Patios: Most sites feature a concrete patio, providing a stable and clean outdoor living space, which is a significant advantage for long-term residents.

  • Laundry Facility: The campground includes a "small two machine laundry facility" on-site, offering a convenient option for residents to do their laundry. While described as "aging" in one review, it still provides a valuable service.

  • Aging Bathhouse: There is an "aging bathhouse" available, providing restrooms and showers for guests. While it might show its age, it offers necessary facilities.

  • Pet-Friendly with No Breed Restrictions: Golden Pond Campground is notably "pet friendly without breed restrictions," a significant advantage for RVers with larger or specific dog breeds. They require notification about pets upon inquiry.

  • On-Site Management: The presence of a "great and easy going" manager (Todd, as mentioned in reviews) who can be called directly for spots, indicates dedicated on-site management that is attentive to resident needs.

  • Wait-List System: Due to its popularity and suitability for long-term stays, the campground often operates on a "wait-list," indicating a high demand for its spots, so calling ahead is crucial.

  • Direct TV Optional: For those desiring entertainment, Direct TV is an optional add-on service, available for a deposit and a monthly fee, including premium channels.

  • Two Stocked Fishing Ponds: The campground boasts "two stocked ponds for fishing," providing a recreational amenity directly on the property for residents.

Golden Pond Campground distinguishes itself with several key features and highlights, particularly for its target audience of long-term RVers and those working locally:

  • Tailored for Long-Term Stays: This is the paramount highlight. Unlike many campgrounds focused on short-term vacationers, Golden Pond Campground is "suited to people working locally" and those needing extended RV living, fostering a stable and quiet environment.

  • Private and Peaceful Setting: The campground offers a "nice private setting" that contributes to a "relaxed and quiet atmosphere," making it an ideal place to unwind after work or enjoy a peaceful extended stay.

  • Two Stocked Fishing Ponds: A unique and highly appreciated feature is the presence of "two stocked ponds for fishing." These ponds are teeming with various fish including Brim, catfish, crappie, carp, and bass, providing a convenient recreational activity right on-site.

  • Friendly Community and Management: Reviews consistently praise the "very friendly" atmosphere and the "great and easy going" manager, Todd. This creates a welcoming and supportive community for residents.

  • Pet-Friendly with Open Policy: The campground's "pet friendly without breed restrictions" policy is a significant advantage for pet owners, providing a rare level of inclusivity for their furry companions.

  • Well-Maintained Grounds: Despite some facilities being "aging," the overall consensus is that the park is "well maintained," ensuring a pleasant and tidy environment for residents.

  • Concrete Patios on Most Sites: The inclusion of concrete patios at most sites enhances the livability for long-term residents, offering a clean, stable surface for outdoor furniture and activities.

As a campground primarily serving long-term residents and those working locally, Golden Pond Campground's "promotions or special offers" are generally focused on long-term value and competitive monthly rates rather than short-term vacation deals.

The core "offer" is its suitability and established infrastructure for extended stays, providing a consistent and reliable living solution. Specific financial promotions are less common for this type of RV park, which often operates at high occupancy due to demand for long-term spots.

However, potential value benefits might include:

  • Competitive Monthly Rates: Golden Pond Campground likely offers attractive monthly rates compared to short-term nightly or weekly rates, making it a cost-effective housing solution for long-term residents.

  • Inclusive Amenities: The full hook-ups, fishing pond access, and on-site laundry are typically included in the monthly rate, providing comprehensive value.

  • Personalized Service: The "easy going" manager and friendly atmosphere act as an unadvertised "offer," providing a level of personal service and community support that can be invaluable for long-term residents.

  • Pet-Friendly Policy: For pet owners, especially those with breeds often restricted elsewhere, the no-breed-restriction policy is a significant "offer" that makes Golden Pond a viable and attractive option when other parks may not be.

Given the high demand and wait-list mentioned in reviews, securing a spot itself can be considered a valuable opportunity. For the most accurate and current information on availability, monthly rates, and any specific terms for long-term stays, it is essential to contact the campground manager directly.
