Frontier Campground Reviews
I stayed here for two months with my young son and husband. The owner was accommodating, made space for us with no reservation. Theres a playground and trampoline. Very quiet and there's laundry. No other amenities though, it seems there's repairs needed on multiple areas but I saw the owner fixing/improving nearly everyday. He will request cash and a large deposit, but always provided receipts and is a trustworthy guy.
Dec 13, 2024 · Bristol PrattFull time camper here with a ton of experience.Frontier Campground is awesome! I've been to others that can't light a candle to this campground. Nestled in the woods, it's peaceful and a great place to self reflect. Plenty of wild life, bike trails, fishing, and boating all close by.Frontier Campground is safe and family friendly. The owner always has his camper's in mind. It's simple here: follow the rules, police yourself, and be respectful. From my point of view, if you want quick service, have a do as please attitude on business property, and promote stress, get a hotel room or stay home.
Jul 22, 2024 · Joseph SI was told by the owner of frontier campground Walter himself that he would "bury me" if I put any negative reviews on here but I want to warn everyone. I would give zero stars if I could. Avoid this place at all costs. My son, boyfriend and I lived there for around 8 months and it was total hell. He made us get rid of our sweet mastiff because he looked like a pit. Walter labeled him aggressive because he was playfully barking at him (while wagging his tail). My Aussie barked for an hour while we were gone during the day and he told us randomly on a Friday afternoon at 4pm that we all had to leave that night or he would keep my $750 deposit. I asked him if we could stay until the school year was over so my son can finish school (2 weeks away) to which he said no. We were paid up until the end of the month and he kicked us out on the 11th and kept our money. He did say if I got rid of my Aussie and left my boyfriend that night that I could stay. REALLY odd request from a landlord. I had to literally beg for my deposit back even when we kept our end of the deal and left that night. He put us in quite the pinch having a matter of a couple hours to find a place to go and move there.he even tried to keep my flower pots that i planted hundreds of dollars worth of flowers in. He's also completely creepy around women he checks them out and makes them uncomfortable and tries to cause chaos in their relationships by saying their man is cheating on them or lying to them etc (did it to me and other women). My son's best friend lived across the street from us at frontier and now my son isn't even allowed to go over and hangout with him anymore because we dropped him and/or his friend off and picked them up (we obeyed the speed limit and did nothing wrong, just wanted to make sure my son and his friend made it to their destination safely). So now apparently my 11 year old isn't allowed to be around his best friend according to Walter. This isn't anywhere close to every problem we've had with him. He always carries a gun and is super unstable. He told me once he was gonna snap one day. I would stay far away from this campground if you don't like drama or constantly being threatened with being kicked out (he does this to almost everyone there except for his friends ). Thanks for taking the time to read this
Aug 12, 2024 · BriAs I read some of the reviews posted here, I find many of the comments false & misleading so I'm here to share our personal experiences. Walter, the owner, is kind, approachable & shows concern for our safety while staying here so when I read some of the disparaging comments about his demeanor with woman, well I was frankly blown away with the blatant & outright lies! I have NEVER felt uncomfortable around him & my husband hasn't either over the several years we've been coming here. I feel comfortable enough to have even been his office secretary for 2 1/2 years prior to retiring. I certainly wouldn't have done that had I had any misgivings about his character! My husband travels with work so my safety while he's gone is very important which is one reason we enjoy staying here. Walter has the grounds monitored by security cameras & he often patrols the grounds with a sidearm which is his absolute right & we certainly appreciate the added security in our behalf. If you're someone who has a problem with him carrying then you're just anti-gun. He doesn't put up with any riffraff and will ask people who cause problems or don't follow the very simple campground rules to leave so that others are able to enjoy their stay. I don't like reviews because, as in many cases I've seen, people will stretch the truth or outright lie which can be harmful to a business but more importantly is defamation of a good man's character! If you're looking to stay at a beautiful, quiet campground that's ran by a man that is worried about your safety & comfort while you're camping then this is the place to come....we love it here and it's largely because of the way Walter runs it for our benefit.
Jul 23, 2024 · Melani JonesTenants whom follow the rules of any establishment, usually have nothing negative to say. People who can't follow simple rules like keeping your dog on a leash, picking up after your dog, keeping your camper and area around your camper clean and free of trash and clutter. These are your basic rules of any campground. As well as if you are told to leave, you don't come back for any reason..that's true with jobs, relationships etc.No business working with the public is easy. The customer is not always right and a little respect for your fellow campers goes a long way. I have been here for over 3yrs.. I abide by the rules and respect the owner . I have never had any issues. There are many happy campers that have stayed here and never had anything bad to say...but there are always those ones that no matter what you do, you're always the bad guy.
