Frog Hollow Horse Camp

Edwards Mill Rd, Voluntown, CT 06384, USA

4.0
The campground is perfect. Space for our living quarters trailer and fencing off an area for the horses to graze. Clean, beautiful, fire ring and picnix table at every site, and easy to ride off on trails. The warm welcome from the Rangers was unparalleled. Thank you Mark, Steve, Nick, and everyone! We stayed 2 nights on our way to Acadia and one night as a layover on our way back home. For some reason we had the campground to ourselves, even during Memorial day week. Highly recommended going there! - Tara Williams

As a campground located within a Connecticut State Forest and likely managed by the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), Frog Hollow Horse Camp typically operates under state park and forest reservation systems. This means that traditional commercial "promotions" or discount codes are not typically offered in the same way a private campground might.

However, specific "offers" or advantageous aspects for campers might include:

  • Standard State Park/Forest Fees: Fees for camping in Connecticut state parks and forests are generally set at a standardized rate, which is often more affordable than many private campgrounds, especially considering the access to extensive natural resources.
  • Seasonal Pass Benefits: Connecticut residents often have access to state park passes (such as the CT State Parks Pass or the No Child Left Inside program) which can cover parking fees or offer other benefits at state-managed recreational areas. While this might not directly discount camping, it can reduce overall visit costs.
  • Early Reservation Advantage: While not a discount, booking well in advance (especially for popular weekends like Memorial Day) is the best way to secure a spot, as indicated by a reviewer who had the campground "to ourselves" perhaps due to early booking or a less-known gem.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on booking procedures, current fees, and any specific policies for horse camping (including required permits or health certificates for horses), interested Connecticut residents should directly consult the official website of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) or call their Parks and Recreation division.
