Then it's time to discover Four Acre Woods Campground on beautiful Deer Isle. This isn't just a place to set up a tent; it's a destination that promises "great vibes with many creature comforts," making it a standout choice for those of us who appreciate both nature and a bit of artistic flair in our outdoor adventures.
For those of us living in Maine, we're spoiled for choice when it comes to natural beauty and camping opportunities. However, Four Acre Woods Campground offers something truly distinctive. It's a place where the peacefulness of the Maine woods meets thoughtful design and excellent amenities, creating a "boho chic" atmosphere that guests rave about. Whether you're seeking a unique glamping experience in an igloo or yurt, or a beautifully designed tent site, Four Acre Woods aims to provide a memorable and rejuvenating escape right here in our beloved state. Let's delve into what makes this Deer Isle gem so special.
Four Acre Woods Campground is perfectly situated at 1181 Sunshine Rd, Deer Isle, ME 04627, USA. This location places it on Deer Isle, a picturesque island in Down East Maine, known for its artistic community, working harbors, and stunning coastal landscapes. For Mainers, reaching Deer Isle involves a scenic drive, often crossing the iconic Deer Isle Bridge, a journey that sets the tone for a peaceful island getaway.
While Deer Isle offers a wonderful sense of escape, the campground itself is easily accessible once you're on the island. The roads leading to Four Acre Woods are well-maintained, ensuring a smooth arrival for vehicles of all types. It’s important to note for RV owners that while the campground accommodates RVs, some sites may be more suitable for smaller units or camper vans, as caution is advised regarding space for full-size RVs. This is typical for more rustic or creatively designed campgrounds that prioritize natural integration.
The location on Deer Isle provides a tranquil base for exploring not only the island's unique charm but also offering relatively convenient access to other popular regions. While it's a bit further from the bustling heart of Acadia National Park (expect about an hour's drive to Bar Harbor, depending on traffic), it's ideal for those who wish to explore the quieter, equally beautiful parts of the coast and enjoy the local flavor of communities like Stonington and Little Deer Isle. The balance between serene seclusion and proximity to regional attractions makes Four Acre Woods highly accessible for a true Maine island experience.

Four Acre Woods Campground Reviews
This campground is boho chic .. gives you great vibes with many creature comforts. Clean shower, guest room with free coffee/tea available, clean bathroom, warm showers, and outdoor sink to clean dishes ...all sites are unique and creatively designed. The igloos and yurts are amazing. Highly recommend. Only thing I would caution is space could be an issue with a full size RV. But we loved it.
May 25, 2025 · Karla MartinezThis campground is awesome. Amenities like a KOA but peaceful and quiet like the Maine woods should be. On a last minute trip to Mt Washington and beyond, found this gem and stayed for 4 days. The host and sauna convinced me to drop anchor and relax for a few days - tent camping at the Octopus Coral. Note - the Kayak is from the campground.I DO plan on going back.
Apr 02, 2025 · Alex RusgoMy wife and I had a delightful overnight stay in November of 2024. We were accommodated graciously by the host with anything we could have ever needed.(dry firewood, Electric hook up, running water) The camping areas were well kept and very inviting. The campground also had an area to wash up and even do laundry if needed. I cannot speak highly enough about this campground absolutely wonderful.
Nov 07, 2024 · Nimble_OneAdorable campsite in a nice quiet part of Maine out on Deer Isle. There was well-placed hookups for he camper and a good amount of space at our camp site. Just a note, I didn't think any of the sites are big enough for a large camper, but the HC1 fit perfectly. There was a little community cabin with games and coffee and a place to wash your dishes, which was nice. The different sites has different options, like preset sturdy tents, and even a large yurt. There was also bathroom/shower facility that was nice to have (nothing fancy, but clean and got the job done).IMPORTANT: It says that dogs must be on leash at all times, but that is *not enforced at all*. That meant we had to super be on watch all the time, since our one dog doesn't like when other dogs run up in his space out of nowhere. We kept ours on 15' tethers but almost everyone else (including dogs with VERY poor recall) seemed to be letting their dogs just wander about.
Oct 06, 2024 · Elizabeth VillarBeautiful campground in a fantastic location. The sauna was a beautiful touch to the place, along with the kayaking tours. Caleb was a wonderful host and created a very warm and welcoming environment, and Devin helped us feel very welcome. Both went above and beyond and I could not have asked for a better experience
