★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had an amazing experience at Fort Yargo! We went camping for the weekend and rented the 4-person paddle boat — such a fun and peaceful way to explore the lake. The staff was friendly, the boat was clean and easy to use, and the whole rental process was smooth. The campground was also well-maintained and perfect for families. We’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommend for a relaxing outdoor getaway! The ladies who assisted us were awesome as well.#FortYargo #CampingFun #LakeLife #PaddleBoating

June 23 · Debbie AndersonWhat a great park - one of GA finest.... we had a little change of plans and converted a stay from an RV site to a cottage, and it was just a phone call away and smooth! The cottage is phenomenal! A wonderland experience! Spacious, warm, cozy, all the amenities needed for a long, comfy stay. Right on the lake - which has a walking path around, View anytime of the day was spectacular. We've set by the fire ring a lot, cooked out on, viewing the lake... so wonderful!! The cottage has a huge screened in back porch, too, which goes great with morning coffee! Only down side to this place is we have to leave! There is plenty to do, yakn, fishing, great walking... do yourself a favor and come here a few days... It'll change your view on life!!PERSONAL NOTE: I give a single star because of one reason... you are not allowed to collect dead wood off the ground for a campfire! Ugh, duh? You have to buy it from them, or within 50miles of - which means if you're camping around the state more than likely you can't take your 'special' firewood with you!! And the reasonings are (from website): 1. Keeping people from cutting live trees, 2. Stopping the spread of harmful bugs. NEWS ALLERT... instead of punishing responsible people, make rules to stop irresponsible people - fine them $1000.00/jail time per, that would sure stop me!! And as far as bugs, you better kill every bird and animal around that travel and migrate more than 50miles for they carry far more insects than humans! It's called nature!!!
December 04 · Michael VenningWe camped for the Fort Yargo 50k that was held on the trails at the park. The state park is beautiful and there are many things to do as a family. The campground was super clean and well kept and the trails are beautiful. All the campsites are very well shaded, are huge, and are pretty private which is really nice.We can't wait to come back, it was one of our favorite spots.
June 02 · Kim KBeautiful wooded campground, level RV sites, gravel ground surface, nice hiking trails throughout, playground area. We camped for the weekend in site #12. It was a wonderful site! Big picnic table, fire ring, grill. Plus some wooden steps leading down to the waters edge. Geese and ducks came by and our toddlers LOVED feeding them Cheerios. They were very friendly and even ate out of their hands. The earthen bridge was fenced off (I assume for construction? But nothing active seemed to be going on) so we walked a mile along the campground roads go get to the campground playground, instead of 0.2 miles. That was a bit of a bummer, but not a big deal overall. The bath houses looked quite nice and well maintained. Vending machines for drinks and very well lit at night. The yurts looked cool, they were across the lake from us. There was a boat launch, larger playground, cabins, biking/hiking trails. The visitor center looked incredible. Modern beautiful building with tables/chairs outside for sitting any time day/night.We like to try new places every time we camp, but if we run out of places, we'll surely choose to come back here.
