3.0
We would camp here again, we had a good time. Everyone that camped last weekend there was very respectful, and nice. We had no issues, besides not grabbing our whole tent. Lol. Meijer and the town is not far away, thankfully. There was firewood at the campground to purchase if needed, and there were trails all around the campsite, if you wanted to go walking or biking. - Nicole Corzine

Get ready to discover a tranquil haven designed for true outdoor enthusiasts.

Forestville Campground is not your typical RV park with all the bells and whistles. Instead, it embraces a simpler, more traditional camping ethos, focusing on the natural beauty and extensive trail access that surrounds it. It's a place where you can enjoy the quiet solitude of the woods, gather around a campfire under the stars, and wake up to the sounds of nature. Whether you're an avid mountain biker, a dedicated hiker, or simply someone who appreciates a peaceful setting, Forestville Campground provides the perfect basecamp for exploring the vibrant outdoors of the Marquette area. Its respectful atmosphere and well-maintained facilities ensure a comfortable and memorable stay for everyone.

Location and Accessibility

Forestville Campground is strategically located on County Road HT, Marquette, MI 49855, USA. This prime Upper Peninsula address places it just north of the chalet at the Forestville Trailhead, making it incredibly accessible for those looking to immediately immerse themselves in outdoor activities. For Michigan residents, especially those in the Lower Peninsula, the drive to Marquette itself is a scenic journey, passing through diverse landscapes that build anticipation for your wilderness retreat.

What makes Forestville’s location particularly appealing is its balance of secluded nature and convenient proximity to urban amenities. While you’ll feel miles away from the city noise, the vibrant town of Marquette and essential services like Meijer are not far away, as noted by a satisfied camper. This means you can easily resupply for groceries, grab any forgotten items, or enjoy a meal out if you wish, without disrupting your connection with nature too much. The campground’s setting at the head of the renowned Noquemanon Trail Network ensures direct access to miles of non-motorized trails for hiking, biking, and in winter, cross-country skiing. The roads leading to the campground are generally well-maintained, allowing for easy access for various vehicles, though it's worth noting that the internal access road is narrow and better suited for tents, van-style campers, or very small pop-up trailers, rather than large RVs or trailers.

Services Offered
  • Rustic Campsites: The campground features 15 to 18 rustic sites, each equipped with a fire pit and picnic table, providing essential amenities for a traditional camping experience.
  • Potable Water: Water is available at a spigot located on the west side of the pole building/chalet, ensuring access to fresh drinking water.
  • Vault Toilets: Clean and well-maintained pit/vault toilets are available in front of the pole building, offering basic restroom facilities.
  • Firewood for Purchase: Firewood can often be purchased on an honor system for a small fee (e.g., $7-$15/bundle), though availability is not always guaranteed, so it's recommended to procure some in town if a campfire is a must.

  • Dog Bags: "Dog Spot" bags are available on-site for pet owners, encouraging responsible pet waste disposal.
  • Wi-Fi Access: While often spotty or limited to the chalet area, some level of internet access may be available, allowing for basic connectivity.
