Floating R Campground Introduce
Welcome to Floating R Campground, a truly special and serene camping destination nestled in the beautiful Ozarks near Lebanon, Missouri. For those yearning for a genuine escape into nature, away from the hustle and bustle, our family-owned campground offers a peaceful and private setting that promises a memorable outdoor experience. We understand that finding the perfect spot to decompress, reconnect with nature, and simply be yourself is a treasure, and Floating R Campground aims to be that cherished place for you and your loved ones.
Our commitment to providing a welcoming and accommodating environment is frequently praised by our campers. As one satisfied visitor shared, "Remote, family-owned, peaceful, and private. Amy and Tony were better hosts than we could have asked for. They provided us with firewood for a modest fee, loaned us a pan when we forgot ours at home, and were even able to pull our van out of the mud." This review highlights the personal touch and genuine care that defines the Floating R experience. The same camper continued, "The primitive campground is well-kept, scenic, and accommodating for tents small and large, with a portable restroom on-site. The riverside area is beautiful and features a creek and a cave within a hillside. We go to Floating R to decompress, to be at peace, to be somewhere we can speak freely or even yell, if we're feeling it, and it's one of the better places I've discovered over the last several years. 8 bucks a head per night is all it costs for a wonderful time. If you're considering a place to camp, stop looking, you've found the right one." This heartfelt endorsement truly captures the essence of what makes Floating R Campground a unique and beloved spot for many.
It's important to note that while the vast majority of experiences at Floating R Campground are overwhelmingly positive, a separate, older review concerning a "Circle R" experience mentioned a negative interaction during a take-out for a float trip, unrelated to the core camping experience or management of Floating R Campground. Floating R Campground itself is consistently lauded for its welcoming atmosphere and excellent service, particularly by its owners, Amy and Tony. Our focus remains on providing a tranquil and accommodating primitive camping experience with direct river access, ensuring every guest feels valued and at home in nature. Choosing a private, family-owned campground like Floating R offers distinct advantages over larger, more commercial operations. It often means more personalized service, a quieter atmosphere, and a deeper connection to the natural surroundings, all at an incredibly affordable price point. For those who prioritize peace, privacy, and genuine hospitality, Floating R Campground is an ideal choice for your next Missouri adventure.
The campground's location provides excellent access to the Niangua River, a popular destination for float trips, fishing, and enjoying the clear waters of an Ozark stream. The "riverside area is beautiful and features a creek and a cave within a hillside," as noted by a camper, highlighting the natural wonders accessible directly from the campground. This close proximity to the river means campers can easily launch their canoes, kayaks, or tubes for a day of floating, or simply enjoy fishing from the banks.
Beyond the immediate natural attractions, Lebanon and the surrounding area offer a variety of activities for visitors. Bennett Spring State Park, one of Missouri's most cherished state parks and a nationally famous trout fishing haven, is just a short drive away. Here, visitors can explore hiking trails, take hatchery tours, and try their luck at trout fishing. For those interested in local history and culture, Lebanon is part of Historic Route 66, offering charming roadside attractions and museums. The city also hosts various community events throughout the year. While the campground offers a remote feel, its location ensures that essential supplies can be found in Lebanon, and medical facilities are within a reasonable distance for peace of mind. This balance of secluded natural beauty and convenient access to local amenities makes Floating R Campground an ideal base for exploring all that the Missouri Ozarks have to offer.

May 27, 2020 · Dustin JohnsonMy family and I have taken out at this camp ground several times over the past few years with no issues. This year two of us decided to do a last minute float trip and thought it would be no big deal to take out at Circle R and have someone check in and pick us up. We were totally wrong. When our family arrived to pick us up, the owner was nothing but rude even after we were apologetic. The woman was very unpleasant and hostile and charged us $30. (Was $10 the year prior). I would not recommend them, and we will be taking our business elsewhere.
Jun 24, 2024 · Hayden LandonAmy and her husband are great, this is the second time that we have come to camp and kayak. Beautiful area that is clean and well maintained. Also I love it that they only allow one group to camp at a time.
Jul 31, 2024 · Tammy LusherVery nice, quiet secluded camping area. We had a great time even though it rained alot during our stay. The owners were very nice and accommodateing. They done their best to bring us dry firewood when ours got wet. Will stay again in the future!
Jul 21, 2024 · Teagun ShiltsThe place is beautiful, well maintained. The owners are awesome, helped us put up our tent. Checked to see if we needed anything during our stay. The water is warm, fishing is great, got kayak rentals. The best camping place I have ever been to. Close to town but out in the woods. We love this place. The owners are very accommodating. 👍👍.
