Elk River Campground Reviews
What a lovely place and such friendly people.I was needing a place to camp as I was on my coast to coast solo bicycle ride across the USA.I called up ahead and Jason was so accommodating. When I arrived, they couldn’t do enough for me.It’s a brilliant place and for camping has the added facilities of bathroom, showers and laundry.Couldn’t ask for more and right down by the river. If you need somewhere to camp or park your RV in this area, I couldn’t recommend it enough.Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and their company and made some great new friends. There is a little friendly shop just up the road for supplies too 👍Brilliant 🙏👍
Aug 15, 2024 · RAPID RICH STOODLEYThis place is absolute hidden gem! We called to ask about availability and Jason called us back within 10 minutes. Tent sites are right next to the elk river providing easy access for kayakers/anglers! Site included a built in firepit with grill that folds over, a picnic table and nice flat spots for the tents and a lantern holder! Trees providing shade for all tent sites. He has a floating dock off shore for easy launches from the campsites too!!! They are in the process of putting a few cabins in for those colder seasons and they will be facing the river! I will definitely be checking those out once they are complete! The RV sites are slightly up the hill from tent sites/cabin location but are very well spaced out and are very well kept! Tons of privacy for tent sites and RV’s. The best part was the newly added BATHHOUSE in the basement of their air b&b! (Check that out too if you don’t feel like packing all your camping gear up! 😁) Washer and dryer available too!!! Jason was an excellent host! Helped us load our kayaks up and kept an eye on our stuff while we went to grab our other vehicle! He also offers a shuttle service for the elk river! We have fallen in love with this campground and we cannot wait to come back! ❤️ pictures of a few fish we caught off the elk river!
Jun 24, 2024 · Mik JOn the way to a motorcycle convention, I wanted to camp somewhere just for the fun of it. I had reserved a tent site at the Elk River Campground in Frametown, WV. This was my first camping experience this year and, unexpectedly, I had problems with my air compressor. Jason and Trent were extremely helpful and creative in getting me squared away. Jason was extremely accommodating and, initially, offered me other options since I could not get my air mattress inflated. The campground was well suited for a long term stay although I could only stay one night. I will be staying there the next time I go to West Virginia as the tent site was ideally situated right next to the river.
Aug 19, 2024 · Erskine Clinton(Writing the review for my husband who stayed here 09/11 - 09/12)Really friendly people but... I won't be staying here again. I met up with my buddy here so we could do some local motorcycle riding. He brought his camper and sat up with full hookups before I got there. Once I arrived I set up my tent about 15 ft from his camper. We shared the picnic table and the same firepit. My buddy was charged $30 a night for the full hookup camper sight and in addition, I was ALSO charged $30 each night for a so called tent sight. Basically I paid $60 to stay 2 nights on an 8x8 piece of grass! As far as the shower house and bathroom...there is one shower and one toilet for the entire campground. No mirror and no shelves or hook to put your things on. I pulled up stakes a day earlier than I had planned and went home. Next trip we'll be staying elsewhere!
Sep 14, 2024 · Patty ReynoldsSpent the night on short notice. Jason was quick to return our phone call, payment was easy through the CashAp. Beautiful tent sites right on the river and plenty of wood with fire rings provided. Highly recommend.
