Eightmile Campground is located about five miles past the Eightmile Guard Station, deep within a scenic part of Idaho. The address is Grace, ID 83241, USA. Its remote nature is a significant part of its appeal, but it's important to be prepared for the journey. The road leading to the campground is described as narrow but passable, particularly for vehicles with higher clearance. Visitors should be aware that large trailers may find the road challenging, especially if they encounter oncoming traffic. This remote setting ensures a peaceful and private camping experience, far from the typical crowds found at more accessible campgrounds. Due to its primitive nature, it is not supported by standard services, which means campers must be self-sufficient and ready for a true wilderness adventure.
Accessibility, while a key feature, requires proper planning. The drive itself is part of the experience, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. It's a journey into the wild, rewarding those who make the effort with unparalleled tranquility. Always check road conditions before you go, and be prepared for a quiet, solitary drive. The lack of heavy traffic is a benefit, allowing for a more relaxed and immersive entry into the campground. The remoteness also means that phone service may be limited, so it's wise to download maps and directions beforehand and inform someone of your travel plans.

What is worth choosing Eightmile Campground?
Eightmile Campground is a destination for a specific type of camper—one who is prepared, self-reliant, and truly desires to get away from it all. It stands out from other campgrounds in Idaho precisely because of its primitive nature. Many campgrounds have been developed with a focus on convenience, offering amenities like flush toilets, showers, and paved roads. While these are great for some, they often come at the cost of genuine solitude and a true connection with the wilderness. Eightmile Campground offers the antithesis of this experience.
Choosing this campground means you are choosing an adventure. You are opting for a place where you can hear the sounds of the stream, feel the crisp mountain air, and gaze at a sky full of stars without any light pollution. The remoteness ensures that you won't be sharing your space with dozens of other campers, providing a sense of privacy and peace that is hard to find elsewhere. It's the perfect setting for a personal retreat, a quiet family trip, or a journey with friends who appreciate a more rugged camping style. The fact that it is largely unsupported means you can feel a sense of accomplishment and self-sufficiency, knowing you successfully navigated and thrived in a true wilderness setting. The beautiful scenery and quiet atmosphere make it an exceptional choice for those who want to disconnect and reconnect with nature on a deeper level. The presence of a stream and fire rings, while simple, provides the essential elements for a memorable and authentic camping experience.
The value of Eightmile Campground is not in what it provides, but in what it allows you to discover. It's a place to challenge yourself, to teach your children about the great outdoors, and to simply exist in a beautiful, natural space. The reviews from previous campers highlight its rustic charm and the rewarding experience it offers. If you have a vehicle with decent clearance, are comfortable with a primitive setup, and are seeking a tranquil escape in Idaho, Eightmile Campground is a highly recommended choice that promises a unique and unforgettable outdoor adventure.

Eightmile Campground Reviews
This primitive campground is apparently not supported and is in disrepair. There are no bathrooms or water. It is about 5 miles past the 8 mile guard station. The road is narrow but passable in a higher clearance vehicle. Large trailers will have a hard time, especially if you meet anyone coming the other way. It is lovely, though, if you want to get away.
