Eastern Lake Campground 2 Reviews
Camped here early October with my family. We had no issues with the roads and followed directions sent via email vs using GSP. Campground 2 is lovely. We were at site 4, which is by far the largest of the four sites there. Plenty of trees to hang hammocks and get organized, and you’re more secluded from the other sites. 1-3 are closer to the water, but honestly the view from 4 is slightly elevated (still gorgeous) with full shade. You park and the campsite is a very short walk, but you can’t pull into the sites so this is something to note if you need direct access to your car while camping. If you need to drive up, I recommend Camgound 1, however those sites don’t have any view of the water (but the sites are spaced out well and still very beautiful btw). Campsite 2 is less quiet since it’s directly across the water from Old Florida Fish House and it was Fall Break. Wasn’t a big deal to us, but if you have an issue with that, I suggest Campground 1. It was also Fall Break while we camped so busier all around on 30A, versus other times of the year. Still extremely peaceful and serene, especially in the mornings.During our stay we took paddleboards all over Eastern Lake, directly over to the Gulf. We also swam near the little floating dock right by the campsites. It’s so beautiful there and as 30A locals this place is truly a little mini vacation away from home. If you love being on the water or fishing, Campsite 2 is for you! Again, site 4 is our recommendation for most privacy and all around layout.
Oct 11, 2022 · Sarah Beth NovakSite description is way off. We booked site 3 at this campground as it is listed as a pull through site, even gives "driveway" dimensions. Hubby and I are disabled. We rented it thinking we could pull our vehicle in, unload the tent and set up. Arrived to find sites are behind a fence and you are expected to carry all your gear several hundred feet to the site. All 4 sites are clustered close together with a vault toilet that has 6 to 8 inches of pea gravel spread all around the areas. This would have made it difficult to use a cart. Site 3 is down a steep hill which would have been impossible for my husband to manage. The people at the next site had a dog that was loose. We also had a dog and knew she would be impossible with a buddy so close even on her leash. A little space between sites is a good thing when dogs are involved. The road, hotels, lights and crowds of the beachfront were visible a couple hundred feet across the lake. There were "bear hunters in area" warning signs which gave us pause. At home they are hunted with loose dogs. They give you a combination for the main gate to the campground but refused to open the gate near the actual campsites, so camper beware, able bodies only and expect to hump your gear in from a tightly packed parking area.
Feb 20, 2023 · Holly KulhawickWe went camping in the free primitive camp sites. They have an outhouse, which is cool but didn't use it. watched the meteor shower and that was great. Will return
Nov 14, 2022 · Shawn MoonWe drove up to Camp Ground 2 area while looking for Camp Ground 1 area. It's directly on the water and you can see the lake/bay water from your campsite, you're ON the water. I'm a little jealous we didn't book this camp area instead. There's a new construction vault toilet, and next time I camp at Point Washington I'll stay at this Campsite instead of area number 1.DON'T FOLLOW GOOGLE MAP DIRECTIONS to get here!!! Instead Google the Point Washington field office address on Google maps and go there. The entrance road to Camp Ground 1 & 2 are directly across from the field office.Another perk of staying at Camp Ground 2 is that there's a bridge that takes you on a trial to get to the beach. It's def a walk, but if you're up for a hike it's accessible. You can hear the waves from the Gulf from your campsite at night when it's quiet.
