East Fork Campground is located on Red Grade Rd, just outside of Buffalo, WY 82834, USA. Its address places it in a prime position within the Bighorn National Forest, a region celebrated for its dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife. The journey to the campground itself is a scenic part of the adventure, taking you away from the hustle and into a true wilderness setting. While the campground is in a remote location, it is easily accessible from Buffalo, making it a convenient basecamp for exploring the area's trails, fishing spots, and scenic drives. A notable feature of its remote location is the limited to non-existent cell phone coverage, which encourages a genuine digital detox and a deeper connection with your surroundings. On-site parking is available, and the campground is designed to be accessible for various vehicles, from cars to RVs.
East Fork Campground focuses on providing a set of core services and amenities that are simple yet essential for a comfortable and enjoyable camping trip. The emphasis here is on cleanliness and functionality, allowing you to focus on the natural experience.
Public Restrooms: The campground is famous for having some of the cleanest restrooms in the area. Our camp hosts, like Steve, work tirelessly to keep the facilities spotless, a detail frequently praised by visitors.
Running Water: Running water is available at the campground, a major convenience for campers. While it is generally safe, it's always a good practice to have your own drinking water or treat the water before use, as is common in many remote camping areas.
Camping Fee: There is a camping fee to stay at East Fork Campground. This fee helps to maintain the facilities and preserve the beautiful natural environment for future campers. The campground is managed by the U.S. Forest Service, and fees are typically paid on-site.
Pet-Friendly: We believe your four-legged friends should be able to join in on the adventure. Dogs are allowed at East Fork Campground, as long as they are kept on a leash and you adhere to all park regulations.
Good for Kids: The campground provides a safe and engaging environment for children to learn about and explore the outdoors. The open space and tranquil setting are perfect for families looking to create lasting memories together.
The true highlights of East Fork Campground are found in its serene atmosphere and the wealth of outdoor opportunities that await just outside your tent or RV door.
Unmatched Cleanliness: The cleanliness of the campground, especially the restrooms, is a major highlight. Past visitors have noted how impressed they were with how well the facilities are maintained, which makes a huge difference in the camping experience.
Abundant Wildlife: The remote location of East Fork Campground means that wildlife sightings are a real possibility. One visitor was thrilled to have a friendly moose visit their campsite. Keep your eyes peeled for deer, moose, and other local fauna.
Gateway to Adventure: This campground is an excellent basecamp for all your Bighorn Mountain adventures. There are numerous mixed-use trails nearby for hiking, mountain biking, and OHVing. The surrounding creeks and streams also offer opportunities for fishing.
Peace and Quiet: As a smaller, more remote campground, East Fork is rarely crowded. This gives you a wonderful sense of peace and solitude. It's the perfect place to set up a basecamp and simply relax, read, or enjoy the beautiful views without interruption.
Stunning Natural Surroundings: The campground is located next to the East Fork of Big Goose Creek, offering the soothing sounds of running water. It's surrounded by open meadows and a forest, providing a beautiful and picturesque setting for your stay.

July 21 · Haley BDrove up here on my way from Miami to Oregon. I made camp and A friend visited "moose". Next morning a Snow storm came in and had to go back down to town 😭.
April 22 · Chano PerezVery beautiful peaceful place to stay
November 20 · John BellHands down one of the cleanest campgrounds I've ever seen! We tented here and the sites are free and clear of debris. The bathrooms were immaculately. The grounds keeper checked on us twice daily and was so amazing and kind. We will definitely be back! The only disappointment was we didn't get to see any moose.
August 29 · Heidi FultzThis is a nice campground a ways off of the beaten path in the Bighorns. There is a meadow nearby frequented by moose, at least when we were there. The host is very nice and helpful. She has firewood available down the road at the next campground, which she also manages. It is a smaller size campground with sites well spaced. Water is from a pump well, and the toilets are older pit units. Lots of trees to provide shade, some noise from a nearby temporary lumber operation, but nothing too loud.
