Eagle Rock Campground

OR-138, Roseburg, OR 97470, USA

4.0
Really nice campground. Spots are situated far apart from one another which makes it really a relaxing environment. North umpqua runs right by a lot of the spots (the spots are elevated a bit above the river). Also, shout out to the ranger who drove down to Dry Creek to call AAA for us the next morning when the starter in our Jeep went out as there's no cell service for miles around. - Sherry Holub

This makes it an ideal spot for those looking to truly unplug, read a book by the river, cast a line, or simply enjoy uninterrupted conversations under the Oregon sky.

This article aims to provide you with a comprehensive overview of Eagle Rock Campground, from its precise location and available amenities to its unique features and how it perfectly caters to the needs of local users like you. Location and Accessibility

Eagle Rock Campground is gracefully situated along OR-138, near Roseburg, Oregon, with the official address being OR-138, Roseburg, OR 97470, USA. This placement puts it squarely within the heart of Oregon's captivating Umpqua National Forest, known for its dramatic landscapes, abundant waterways, and diverse ecosystems.

While the campground offers a distinctly secluded feel, its location along a state highway makes it remarkably accessible. OR-138, also known as the North Umpqua Highway or the "Highway of Waterfalls," is a scenic route that winds through some of Oregon's most picturesque terrain. This ensures a relatively smooth drive for campers arriving from Roseburg or other parts of the state. The fact that it's "close enough to Roseburg to run into town for whatever" is a significant advantage, providing a convenient option for last-minute supplies or emergencies, despite the remote feel of the campground itself.

One of the most notable aspects of Eagle Rock's location is its immediate proximity to the North Umpqua River. Many of the individual campsites are situated with the river running right by them, albeit "elevated a bit above the river," offering beautiful views and the soothing ambient sound of flowing water. This direct access to the river is a major draw for activities like fishing or simply enjoying the riverside ambiance.

Furthermore, Eagle Rock Campground serves as an excellent base camp for exploring broader Oregon attractions. It is conveniently "close enough to Crater Lake to make a day trip," a huge bonus for those wishing to visit Oregon's only national park and its breathtaking caldera. This strategic positioning allows campers to enjoy the solitude of the campground while still having the option to embark on day excursions to iconic regional landmarks. The surrounding area is also characterized by "unusual granite formations," adding to the unique geological interest and visual appeal of the landscape.

And for those looking to explore beyond the campground, its proximity to Roseburg for quick supply runs and, more significantly, its ideal position for a day trip to Crater Lake National Park, make it a strategically perfect base camp.

Ultimately, Eagle Rock Campground caters to the Oregonian desire for peace, natural beauty, and a genuine outdoor adventure. It’s a place where you can relax, explore, and create lasting memories in a setting that feels both wild and welcoming. If you’re an Oregon local searching for a quiet riverside retreat where you can truly disconnect and appreciate the wonders of our state, Eagle Rock Campground should be at the very top of your list.
