Eagle Park & Campground Introduce
For Idahoans seeking a peaceful and accessible outdoor retreat, Eagle Park & Campground in Rexburg offers a unique and serene experience. Tucked away on the banks of the Teton River, this spot provides a tranquil getaway without a long drive, making it a favorite for local families and individuals alike. As a dual-purpose space, it functions as both a public park and a campground, offering a blend of recreational activities and a quiet place to relax. The feeling of being "very tucked away and serene," as noted by a previous visitor, is a huge part of its appeal, providing a welcome contrast to more crowded recreational areas. While its recent history has presented some challenges, the community's dedication to its restoration speaks volumes about its cherished status as a local asset.
Eagle Park & Campground is the kind of place that invites you to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of nature. A customer's review highlights the convenience of having "fire pits and lots of firewood," as well as "picnic tables and places to park next to your stuff," which are thoughtful amenities that contribute to a hassle-free camping trip. The focus here is on a traditional camping experience—tent sites nestled in a natural setting, perfect for gathering around a campfire with family and friends. For those with children, the "kid-friendly hikes" and the safe, open environment make it an excellent place for introducing the next generation to the joys of the outdoors. The park’s commitment to providing a welcoming space is also evident in its pet-friendly policy, allowing dogs to join in on the fun.
It is important to acknowledge the recent challenges and conditions of the park, as mentioned in a recent review. A visitor described the area as having a "huge amount of damage" and being "pretty unusable" at the time, possibly due to a flood. However, the review also optimistically noted "some evidence that there is possibly some work being done to cut and clear the downed trees and limbs," and this is consistent with local efforts. The City of Rexburg and its community are actively working to restore the park, which demonstrates the collective love and value placed on this local resource. While visitors should be aware of these conditions, the ongoing work suggests a positive future for the park as it returns to its full beauty and usability.
Eagle Park & Campground is located at 4 Eagle Pk Dr, Rexburg, ID 83440, USA. While the park itself is a bit of a hidden gem, a past customer mentioned that finding the correct entrance can be difficult due to confusing directions from mapping services. The reviewer helpfully noted that many entrances were blocked and provided a picture of the correct one. The easiest way to access the park is to follow signs for the Teton River corridor park system, as it's the westernmost park in this series.
Accessibility is a key feature of Eagle Park & Campground. It offers wheelchair accessible entrances and a wheelchair accessible parking lot, ensuring that it can be enjoyed by a wide range of visitors. The park is well-suited for on-site parking, with spots available right next to the camping areas, which makes loading and unloading gear a simple process. It is important to note that this is a tent-only campground, and it does not allow RVs or trailers. This policy helps maintain the serene, traditional camping atmosphere that makes the park so appealing. The camping fee is an affordable $10 per space per night, which is paid via a dropbox, and picnicking is free.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1One caution first:Google maps makes it very difficult to arrive. All the entrances it was leading me to were blocked off as private or city property. I have included a picture of the only entrance I could find, which took me 45 min.But its a pretty good little camp area! Feels very tucked away and serene. There are fire pits and lots of firewood that someone kindly stacked up along the road. There are picnic tables and places to park next to your stuff. It's a great get away
July 09 · Coltrin FeltI'm sure that this location used to be absolutely beautiful... And it's so very sad the state that it's in now. It almost looks as though it was flooded out and that created a huge amount of damage to the area. It's pretty unusable. There was some evidence that there is possibly some work being done to cut and clear the downed trees and limbs... I'm hoping that's the case. If you are traveling through the area currently though, it's not worth stopping at, definitely not a place to camp at currently.
November 10 · TJ HansenI am surprised at how much is fit behind the expectation of this little park! It seems simple but there is the obvious park area that has nice grass and a pavilion with benches, and then there are camp grounds, mountain bike trails, a frisbee golf course, fishing (I think), as well as walking trails and I've seen people riding razors and atvs around! Some areas through the river are deep enough for swimming and other areas are shallow enough for some fun off-roading!We have brought our dog here multiple times and he loves it. There are often a handful of dogs that we see when we go.The road that goes along the camp sites is very accessible to all vehicles. We even took our Honda civic into the river in a shallow area for fun, but nothing crazy! Haha
October 20 · sammi estradaGreat place to hang out with friends. I have been to quite a few non fires here and always had a great time. There seems to always be enough fire pits so not a lot of prior planning needs to go into it. More parking would be nice but it is enough most of the time.
May 13 · Nikolas SteeleWe came during the week, and about 80% of the campsites were open. Most of the sites have a picnic table, a garbage can, and a water pump. Even though it's a pretty trafficked area, the campsites themselves feel secluded. The creek nearby is pretty green, so it's not great to walk in, but the area itself is beautiful and pretty close to town. Plus, we found a friend!
