We had such a great experience last October that we came back again this October. Laurie was a great host each time She was helpful and kind and we had good conversations. I was never asked to leave a review I just feel inclined to share our experience. First off this park is only about 25 minutes from Loveland which we see as a bonus especially hauling a camper. There were a couple long term campers who don’t bother anyone and the owners cabin….other than that we had the place to ourselves and she helped us pick out the best spot for our 26 foot camper. It was right next to the river which doesn’t have hook ups but was no big deal and a more than fair trade off to walk out the door to that view every morning! If you do want hook ups tho they are available just across not very far from the river. The spots are well kept and have a fire pit and a picnic table. There’s no cell service but there is open WiFi near her home. It’s also close to Estes if you are need to run out for something or wanting to explore outside of camp. We did leave to have a birthday lunch in Estes but other than that we were so content just hanging out at camp listening to music tossing the football and frisbee and most of all enjoying the river in rubber boots and hip waders. If you’re debating on giving this park a try you totally should especially in the fall when things have slowed down. - the Power

  • Variety of Site Options: With both tent sites and RV spots, including those with electrical hookups, Drake Campground caters to diverse camping preferences. Campers can choose between rustic riverside spots without hookups (a fair trade-off for the view!) or more convenient sites with power.

  • Well-Kept Sites with Basic Amenities: Each spot is described as "well kept" and includes essential amenities like a fire pit and a picnic table, fostering traditional camping activities like cooking over an open fire and enjoying outdoor meals.

  • Disconnect and Reconnect Opportunity: The limited cell service at the campsites, coupled with available Wi-Fi near the owner’s cabin, encourages campers to unplug from daily distractions and truly immerse themselves in nature. This balance allows for both a digital detox and the option to connect when necessary.
