June 26 · Nathan MarquardtThis place is amazing! Our group stayed 2 nights. The staff and management are very friendly and accommodating. We will plan for another trip soon.
July 26 · James M. CocroftWe stayed here for a September weekend recently and had a really nice time. The grounds and facilities were very clean and you can tell that the organization in charge cares about this property. There was a small playground for kids, a couple bikes of different sizes that were free to use, and there is firewood on site. It's on a small flowage with a small dam and creek. No water access for boating or swimming though, you'll have to head to a nearby lake if that's the kind of activities you enjoy.Your rig will get dirty getting there, it's about 4 miles of dusty dirt road once you turn off the highway. And then 4 miles back out but it is worth it for the peace and quite.
September 30 · Dawn JayThank you DOVR for for providing such a nice place for us to be able to hang out. The Allen cabin is a peaceful place to get away and shower and feel fresh for our weekend. Beautifully done. Can’t wait to return and see what else you have added to the cabins to continue the beautiful look.
August 28 · Rhyann ChambersNot a soul in sight. It was deserted when I arrived on a Tuesday. Arrived at 0900 and left at 1500. No one for 6 hours. Everything was locked. It is supposed to be a veterans retreat, like it says in its name, not a campground in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no one available to talk to you. I think I was hoodwinked. Lesson learned. Do not go there during the weekday. You will be disappointed!
