The clean, safe environment is a testament to the staff's dedication, and the clear, pristine lake is a major draw. One of the most talked-about features is the presence of friendly, roaming burros. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is a wonderful spot where you can enjoy a pleasant Lake that is very clear, can see to that bottom for over 30 ft and hangout with Donkeys! 🫏✨️ yes they make noise, and yes they will make their rounds... so don't leave any food out, made the mistake of leaving an orange on the table and a donkey just ate it all in one bite.
May 04 · Victoria CueI read a lot of negative reviews about this campground, but I fail to understand why. Yes, some of the sites are a bit of a walk from the parking area, but that’s what camping is about. I can understand the Burros if you have little ones, but we discovered if you tap the pole that holds of the shade over the picnic table, they’ll get lost. Bathrooms weren’t pristine but were clean. There was hardly any trash (seen mentioned many times) and it felt very safe. Would stay again.
July 12 · JN336It was awesome and quiet. Went on Thursday came home Saturday during the week it's not crowded at all. We had site 120 and it's a great spot close to bathrooms but not to close.Donkeys, donkeys, donkeys oh and fish , crawdads and lots of wildlife. I loved it!
June 15 · Leslie CollierAbsolutely love this place. Went for mother's day week and had a blast with the kids. The showers and bathrooms were surprisingly clean and always filled with toilet paper. The camp site was very clean and we had a great time. Lots of wildlife. Recommend keeping food in tubs or in the car at night. We had donkeys that decided to play with one of our boxes they found by the picnic table and kept us up kicking it around and tearing it up. Was funny to watch though. They came up while I was sitting down later and just stood there while we talked. Insect repellent or citronella is definitely a high recommendation. Have places for extensions cords if you need to charge a phone or bring a fan. Love this place!
May 27 · Shawn DunnWe are on another road trip and trying to hit some random campgrounds and towns/ cities along the way. We stopped at this park and asked if a campsite was available with a fire ring and bathroom, the lady actually took out an album and checked the photos to make sure! The site is not in their main camping area but I think they had it classified as semi-developed. We were in spot 118; the bathroom was clean (no shower but the other camping areas seem to have them), the area was quiet (one guy with a generator several sites up from us but he turned it off before quiet time), and our site had a great canopy over the picnic table. This was an excellent stop for one night and would love to come back for a longer stay.
