June 26 · Josh TalbottPool was down and park amenities were dated, room had broken shades and room was over 100 degrees when we got there and smelled like animals. they also didn't give enough or the proper linen for the beds available that we paid extra for. They did give a full refund for the follow on stay so we could go to another location.
July 08 · Terry FisherThis was my first time staying at a KOA, and I booked it while in town for a basketball tournament with my kids. Instead of the usual hotel, I thought it would be fun to try something different with more of an Airbnb type vibe. I specifically chose the larger cabin based on the pictures on the website, which showed a big front porch that looked perfect for relaxing and grilling. That porch was the main reason I paid more for the cabin that sleeps eight, even though we didn’t need all the space. We arrived a few hours early after a long day of travel and asked about early check in, but it was denied due to housekeeping being short staffed. No problem, we left and came back at three. Check in was quick, but the front desk staff came off a bit passive and not very helpful when I pointed out that the cabin we got didn’t match the one shown online. The staff just kept saying “oh, so sorry” without offering a real solution. She came back shortly after with another staff member to help with the door code, and I used that opportunity to mention the TV issues I was having. Still, no one actually took a look at what I was explaining. They just repeated “oh, so sorry about that” and suggested I stream from my phone to the TV, which didn’t really solve anything.Eventually, I spoke with the manager, who did take the time to listen. I explained that while I understood their point about cabins being assigned by floor plan, I had made my decision based on the photo shown on the website. That’s when I learned that you actually need to call and reserve a specific cabin if there's a particular one you want, because even though the pictures are listed, they don’t book based on images, only on the general floor plan. I explained that for a first time guest, that’s a little misleading, especially when the porch was a big part of what sold me on that cabin. He ended up trying to make it right, which I appreciated, and even came by later to help fix the TV issue himself. At that point, he could see exactly what I had been describing. A previous guest had changed the TV setup and user interface entirely. That’s all I wanted from the beginning, just someone to actually look into it.We spent the rest of our stay grilling in the common area, which was fine, although the grills could definitely use some maintenance. The knobs didn’t work well to manage the flame, and one of the gas pipes was rusted and had holes in it, which meant I could only use one side of the grill. Still, we made the best of it and enjoyed our time.I give this stay three stars. The biggest takeaway is that for first time KOA visitors, it's important to confirm exactly what your cabin will look like before booking. This review isn’t to bash the KOA experience as a whole. I would definitely stay at another location, but this is more to help others avoid the confusion I ran into this time around.
July 17 · Clifton WhiteThis campground is right off of a Main Street and very difficult to get into from the road as they have a narrow entrance. This also makes it difficult to exit when you are leaving. Check-in was, ok. Not very friendly. The grounds were not kept up other than cut grass. There was a jump pad and playground but it looked like it had been there abandoned for years. The pool didn’t have water in it, so no swimming. The laundry room did not have a change machine and was very dirty, so if I had change, I wouldn’t have done my laundry there anyway. With what the campground had to offer and the sad shape it is in, I’m surprised that koa has this listed as a holiday, it is a journey at best. I would not recommend staying here to anyone.
April 29 · Michael Gwe chose the spot because we were driving in from South Carolina for a soccer tournament because I’m a lazy traveler I looked for an RV spot last minute. If I had more time to research, I would not have stayed here. It’s rundown the RV spots are uneven, and it appears that there are people living in their campers here permanently, which is fine but not the vibe I’m used to. We almost always will pick a KOA site for a quick overnight stays when traveling because of their consistency. This place did not meet our expectations.
