★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I really wanted to give this place a higher rating. It's right on Eagle Beach and the sites are nice. However we wanted to camp several days only to find it was $30 a night for dry camping. $40 dollars for full hook up. That's a decent price for full hook up, but the dry camping option was way too expensive in my book so we only stayed for one night. I could have given it 3 or 4 stars but the power outlet up was installed incorrectly (upside down) as such I had to bungy my surge-protector to the pole to make it work. I checked out another empty space and same problem. Not cool. Also, very buggy. Not sure it was worth the "savings" over another traditional RV park.
September 16 · Jesse CarwinGreat spot I would have given it 5 stars but they only have 30 amp power. We didn't notice the road noise in our rv how ever we did have the air conditioning on. but you may if you're in a tent. Didn't notice bugs on this trip but you are staying next to water. This was our 5th time staying and will do it again.
August 17 · Dennis WisniewskiThis campground is terrific with nice facilities, friendly staff, campers, and of course friendly but hungry raccoons that visit from time to timeThe beach was really nice but once you get even close to the water the mosquitoes are relentless. Took out a canoe with my wife and dogs. Literally within 200 yards of any coast line you get attacked with a swarm of mosquitoes. I just don’t know why they would not spray. Other than the onslaught of mosquitoes this beach is nice and people friendly.
June 12 · Virgil De SioNice level campsites that are pull through. Some sites don't have shade. There was some broken glass near our picnic table and other sites had trash left behind. It is near the highway so there is a lot of road noise. We did see a raccoon come into our campsite at dusk but we didn't have anything left out so he looked in through our trailer door and moved on.It appears they are making improvements. The bathroom and shower house was clean and updated. The toilets closest to our campsite were a bit dated and not so clean. There was a fire ban when we checked in.There are mosquitoes but the thermacell seemed to work fine. We did have some flies and bees but that is to be expected when camping. We did not make it to the beach area since this was just a stopover for the night.Overall not a bad campground but it is pricey ($60/night)for a state campground.
June 21 · Melanie GalanisI was driving up to Montana for college and decided to spend the night at this campground. I came in at 6:30 at night obviously wanting to camp, payed $20 dollars to stay the night. I found it strange that there was no mention of my campground number or where I should go, but it was Monday so I thought they just weren't busy. An hour later the grounds managers come over and ask me for my sticker. I tell them I don't have one, but I do have a receipt. I look down at the receipt and realize it's a day pass. The grounds managers then told me I had to pay another $40 on top of the $20 (even though I was primitive camping) I already spent or leave in fifteen minutes. I, through this whole ordeal was very polite, but also visibly distraught because I had been driving for ten hours and knew there were no other campgrounds nearby. In summary the grounds staff are incredibly rude and there is no option for primitive camping. If you're looking for an emergency rest stop drive to the Walmart 10 minutes away. The staff there are incredibly polite, and they have amenities.
