Cottonwood Campground Reviews
This is a corps of engineers campground operated by the federal government. There is not a lot of privacy because the sites are spaced maybe 50 ft apart. It's wide open with the exception of huge cottonwood trees that provide plenty of shade. This is built in the flood plain of the former historic channel of the Missouri River and the Lewis and Clark expedition would have traveled this path. There are clean restrooms and hot water in the showers. Each side has a metal picnic table and firing and are neatly kept most sites are paved. There is a swing set play area. Everything you would expect at a campsite. It's grassy and kept mode. No ticks. I was here in late May and there were no bugs speak of.
May 22, 2025 · Andrew HealThe camp host was amazing and helped us find a spot next to the water. We had a great time and can't wait to return. Kayaking is amazing here, and I even seen some deer on the shore eating and drinking.
Jun 12, 2025 · Lila JurriesVery nice campground with large, level, paved sites. Large playground for kids. Good showerhouse. Located on a small lake near the Missouri River. Potable water available and dump station nearby.
Jun 05, 2025 · Garry BunnellBoyfriend and I went truck camping a couple weeks ago at the cottonwood really enjoyed it.
Jul 01, 2025 · ashley pospisilStayed here for a few days on a month long camping trip in the West. The premium sites offer a great view across the lake but are right on top of one another, probably meant for RV's more than tent campers. The restrooms were very clean and the showers were awesome. People were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again
