Circle R Campground Introduce

When you’re planning your next camping adventure, especially if you’re looking to be close to the excitement of Oshkosh, Circle R Campground is a name that often comes up. Family-owned since 1967, this campground has been a long-standing fixture in the area, offering a convenient and relaxed atmosphere for campers of all types. It’s particularly well-known among those attending the annual EAA AirVenture Fly-in, thanks to its strategic location and thoughtful services.
Circle R Campground aims to provide a comfortable base for exploring the Oshkosh area or simply enjoying a peaceful getaway. While some facilities are undergoing improvements, the core appeal remains: spacious, grassy sites, a friendly atmosphere, and a history rooted in Wisconsin hospitality. As one recent visitor enthusiastically noted, "The grounds are well maintained and beautifully grassy, which is great for kids to run and play around in. There is a great “old school” playground for the kids, ours loved it!" The new owners are actively working on addressing past concerns, showing a commitment to enhancing the guest experience. This dedication, combined with a very relaxed atmosphere, makes Circle R a compelling choice for your next Wisconsin camping trip.

Situated just off US-41 (Exit 113), the campground is easy to reach from all directions, whether you’re coming from Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, or other parts of the state.
One of the most significant advantages of Circle R Campground’s location is its close proximity to the EAA Aviation Museum and the EAA AirVenture Fly-in grounds. Despite its urban proximity, the campground maintains a feeling of open space, with "very spacious" camp spots where you "do not feel packed in at all." This balance of convenience and room to breathe is highly valued by local campers.

Circle R Campground Reviews
In area for 2024 EAA Airventure Fly-in. Pretty good location for air show. Shuttle to air show grounds a plus. Nice little bar on-site with very friendly people. Nice green grass throughout. Trees in older areas but not in newer areas. On the downside, the facilities definitely need repair and upgrading as does the grounds. Lots of depressions and pot holes that could use some filling. Bathrooms and showers are in really bad condition - should be torn down (before they fall down) and rebuilt. Not sure about the water either as we had some seepage on our hookup and it left significant rust colored deposits on our filter and connections - rusty pipes or high iron content water? We threw our relatively new filter away. The place generally just needs some serious TLC.
Jun 06, 2025 · RG AZWe stayed for a long weekend in August. The grounds are well maintained and beautifully grassy, which is great for kids to run and play around in. There is a great “old school” playground for the kids, ours loved it! We did not use any of the showers or restrooms, so I can not comment on those, but it seems like the new owners are really working on improvements that were complaints in the past. The campground is easy to maneuver around in even with our 38’ motor home pulling a 26’ trailer!Camp spots were decently level and very spacious! You do not feel packed in at all. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere and we would definitely book there again! My only constructive criticism would be just to update the website to provide a bit more information and photos of the campground. Thanks for letting us stay there!
Aug 12, 2024 · Kaila FWe were there for a week during the July 2024 Air Venture. The new owner was very nice and helpful. He took a personal interest in the visitors and talked about the improvements he plans to make. The power is perfect, all brand new dual 30 and 50 amp connections and very well done. Only a few spaces have sewer hookup but there is a nice central dump station with rinse. The water pressure is good but has extremely high iron content. The showers were actually clean but the iron content turned the white shower stall floors rusty red which made them appear dirty. If you shower with flip flops, they will be rust stained with one shower. If that were addressed, I’d give it 5 stars. Aside that, all the workers were very nice and the facility is well cared for. We really enjoyed our stay.
Jul 29, 2024 · Jeff MelcherWe stayed this past weekend for my grandsons birthday. Everyone had a great time. The rec room we had his birthday party in was great. The kids played on the playground from the time they got up till little after dark . The staff are all very friendly and nice. We will definitely be going back
Sep 16, 2024 · Kristen HammesUpdate: The hot water system has been revamped, showers and bathrooms work with on demand hot water! There is also a washer and dryer. The new owner has lots of expansion plans, including replacing the bath and laundry rooms with completely new ones in the next few years, as well as putting in a swimming pond.Original: the only reason I rated the "rooms" lower is because the new owner has yet to update the bathrooms and laundry. The park is beautiful. Green grass, shade trees, country bar, playground. The new owner is upgrading continuously. The staff are great. Love the place so far. We booked for the season.
