We truly enjoyed out stay at this campground. $35 a night for full hook ups in a beautiful location is not bad! We had plenty of space too! The tent spots on the water looked very cool and the spots further up the hill seemed to be a little more private. There were nice picnic areas on the lake as well. Lloyd and Shelly do an excellent job keeping everything runny smoothly and the bathhouses clean. I loved listening to the birds and watching the fog rolling on the lake while walking the dog in the early mornings. Great stay at a great price! - Siri Bookani

The Cherokee Dam Campground is more than just a place to park an RV or pitch a tent; it’s a gateway to the vast recreational opportunities offered by Cherokee Lake. Operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), these campgrounds are known for their well-maintained facilities and prime locations, often directly on the waterfront. Cherokee Lake itself is a sprawling reservoir created by the Cherokee Dam on the Holston River, offering over 400 miles of shoreline and drawing anglers, boaters, and nature lovers from across the region. The campground directly benefits from this expansive aquatic playground, providing immediate access to fishing, boating, and stunning lake views.

Offering full hookups at an affordable price point in such a "beautiful location" makes it an incredibly appealing choice for families, couples, and solo travelers alike. The dedication of the camp hosts, often mentioned by name (like Lloyd and Shelly), in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring smooth operations, contributes significantly to the positive atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful morning watching the fog roll off the lake or an active day of water sports, this campground provides a comfortable and welcoming base for exploring the best of East Tennessee’s outdoors. Location and Accessibility

The Cherokee Dam Campground is ideally situated at 1680 Boat Launch Rd, Sevierville, TN 37876, USA. This prime location places it directly on the shores of Cherokee Lake in East Tennessee, a region celebrated for its natural splendor and proximity to popular tourist destinations. Sevierville itself is a vibrant city, often serving as a gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, though the campground offers a different, more lake-focused experience.

For residents across Tennessee, the campground boasts excellent accessibility. From Knoxville, a major urban center, the drive is relatively short and direct, making it a convenient option for a quick weekend escape. From Nashville, Memphis, or Chattanooga, the journey involves traveling on well-maintained interstate highways, transitioning to state routes as you approach Sevierville. While the drive might be longer from West or Middle Tennessee, the destination's beauty and affordability make the trip well worth it. The roads leading to the campground are easy to navigate, even for those pulling large RVs or trailers, as noted by visitors who found the location "easy to get to."

One of the key advantages of this location is its balance between peaceful lakeside seclusion and proximity to amenities and attractions. Furthermore, for those looking to expand their itinerary, the famous attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, including Dollywood, outlet shopping, and a myriad of entertainment options, are just a short drive away. This strategic positioning means campers can enjoy the tranquility of the lake while having easy access to a wide array of dining, shopping, and entertainment choices, making it a perfectly situated base for exploring the best of East Tennessee. Despite some traffic noise mentioned in reviews due to proximity to a road, the overall ease of access and the beautiful setting typically outweigh this minor inconvenience.
