What is worth choosing
Cave Springs Campground offers a truly exceptional camping experience that is well worth choosing for your next outdoor getaway in Arizona. Its primary draw is the phenomenal combination of seclusion and scenery. It provides a peaceful retreat from the more crowded areas, allowing you to fully appreciate the stunning landscape of Oak Creek Canyon. Unlike other campgrounds that can feel over-run, Cave Springs maintains a tranquil atmosphere, which is a major point of praise from repeat visitors. The friendly and accommodating staff are another reason to choose this location. Camp hosts and workers are consistently described as phenomenal, always ready to help and ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible. This level of service creates a welcoming and supportive environment that makes all the difference.
The on-site amenities, while not extensive, are thoughtfully curated for the camper's convenience. The small shop is a lifesaver for last-minute needs, saving you a trip to town. The availability of clean, warm showers for a reasonable fee is a significant convenience, especially after a long day of hiking. Speaking of which, the accessibility to hiking trails directly from the campground is a huge plus. It provides a fantastic opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the area without having to drive anywhere. The campground is also notably family-friendly. With a quiet atmosphere at night and a general sense of safety, it’s a place where you can feel confident bringing your kids for a memorable outdoor experience. The dog-friendly policy further adds to its appeal, as it allows the whole family, including your four-legged members, to enjoy the adventure together. The location, right in the heart of Oak Creek Canyon, is simply unbeatable, providing a central point for exploring all that the Sedona area has to offer while feeling completely immersed in nature.
While some campsites may be extremely close to one another and a few spots are in direct sun, a little bit of pre-planning and a quick check-in with the friendly staff can ensure you find a spot that meets your needs. The proximity to the creek, the beautiful atmosphere, and the clean facilities make these minor drawbacks seem insignificant. The presence of spiders, a natural part of any wilderness environment, is something to be prepared for, but it is a small price to pay for the incredible natural setting you get to experience. In essence, choosing Cave Springs Campground is choosing a well-rounded, well-maintained, and genuinely beautiful place to create lasting memories in one of Arizona’s most spectacular regions.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Absolutely my favorite campground of all time. We have stayed here a few times before, and this time I wanted to write out a review with some information for other visitors.First off, this site beats nearby Pine Flat and Manzanita campgrounds hands down. The seclusion, the scenery, the friendliness of all the camp hosts and workers... phenomenal. There is a little shop up front that seeps necessities such as ice, firewood, and ice cream. The prices are certainly a little higher than what you will find at the grocery store, but that should be expected for the convenience of not having to go far. In my opinion the prices are actually very reasonable, given how much things have gone up elsewhere lately.Showers are on site, 8 bucks each, and they last plenty long with warm water. There is a handicap accessible ramp and shower as well.We just finished up a 4-day stay, and it all just reminds me of how much I love this campground. I have seen some negative mentions in the reviews, but by some of the things they are saying, I would bet that they might just be the kind of "problem" campers that need a little extra supervision. We have never had any complaints.Love it, all around.
June 20 · Kristopher “Vegetaman” JustinPros: Hosts were nice and friendly. Bathrooms were clean. Not loud at night. Pretty atmosphere. Close to creeks. Seemed very family friendly. Spot had a table. Dog friendly.Cons: Very dusty. Our spot was shady but there were many spots that were directly in the sun so choose accordingly in the summer. Campsites were extremely close. The amount of spiders is insane. There was a nest of spiders on top of our tent after just one night.
June 21 · Mariah PazWe really enjoyed cave springs. So happy they were able to open back up this year. They are still working on the water but they did have water available. Showers were great! The staff was super friendly and attentive. The blue herons were a treat! Would definitely come back to this campsite!
May 01 · Chelsea WalkerWe rolled in on a Sunday looking for a 2 night stay. Recreation.gov said none available, however the hosts Dawn & Todd assisted us with a variety of available sites. The camp is clean and very woodsy! Bathroom are very well kept. Our two hosts are busy cleaning and tidying the grounds. They also gave us some hints and maps for hiking trails! This will be a MUST STOP when in the Sedona area going forward.
April 20 · Tracey DuChene100/5 stars. Bathrooms were the cleanest you can imagine, did not smell AT all. Campsites are widely spaced apart, lots of room for kids to play in the woods. Everyone there was quiet and lovely. We stayed in A1 and would recommend it for a tent. The only sites I wouldn't recommend are the ones right next to a bathroom, you'll get a lot more passer-byers.
