Catawba Falls Campground, LLC Reviews
This was my first time at a private campgrounds and would definitely come back again. The sites were well spaced, the staff was attentive and helpful. The camp store had a great deal on firewood and being on a creek was nice. The best part was the location allowing us to both hike Chimney Rock and explore Black Mountain.
Aug 25, 2024 · Luke Jury2nd time we’ve visited and loved the experience! We rented the laurel haven cabin. Great location on the river and close hike to Catawba falls. They have a coffee bar and we could purchase firewood and ice on site which was very convenient. The owners are so nice and very accommodating. There’s a couple breweries within a 5 minute drive. We plan on visiting again in this summer.
May 30, 2024 · Ashley HicksOur picnic table was rotting away, when we mentioned it then the owner he asked if I could drive my truck to another campsite to pick up a new table and bring it to my site because he couldn't do it. Needless to say we did not have an adequate table to use at the site. The sites themselves were very tight and close to each other. Absolutely no privacy, had to whisper to each other to talk. Our site had broken glass and broken tiles all over the ground. Bathrooms were clean and that's the only real positive thing I can say about this camp ground. We decided to leave our trip early. Would not recommend if you are looking for a true camp experience.
Jun 17, 2024 · Gabriel LastrakovaI haven’t stayed here in 12 years but I am so happy I came back! Beautiful campground situated right on the river & the sounds of the river are so peaceful. The family who owns it is amazing & make the experience a million times better. Kim was so helpful at answering all of my questions before we booked & Rick & “Dad” took great of us while we were there. Bathhouse is clean & the camp store has ice, firewood, and all the little things you may have forgotten. (Along w/ a little coffee shop where we grabbed iced coffees then sat our chairs in the river to enjoy them!) Short walk to Catawba Falls trailhead & only 5 mins from downtown Old Fort. Amazing camping weekend & we will be back as soon as possible!!
Jun 17, 2024 · Teresa Lynn ClaytonHad a great time, service and location are great. Awesome customer service and location right off of 40 but far enough to not hear traffic.Campsite is on the Catawba River just down for trailhead of falls.I was so close to giving 5 stars. I gave 4 overall due to the near $60 rate, no sewer hookup at site, and how tight the spots are. Staff did mention expanding sites E1-10 but for now, it’s close quarters.I would definitely come back.
