Carter Lake Eagle Campground Reviews
This place was good staff was nice but if I came here again I would scout my spot due to the weird layout of the campsites. Though i did like they had a tent pad on my site. I wished the fire pit was closer. Which is another good thing they allow campfires per fire restrictions of course. Make sure you plan for paying for parks pass and showers though if you you plan to tent
Jun 16, 2025 · Gators BikehartThe lake is nice and it’s quiet for being close to the road. Our site had cigarette buts and dog poop when we showed up. The real problem here is the nasty camp hosts. Mean people. Summer of 2025.
Jun 08, 2025 · Terry ElstonOk campground, good locationSites aren’t level, very tight squeeze through the trees for larger RVs. No one was there to check us in, give a map, etc when we got there at 3pm but then a park ranger knocked on our door around 9pm to check us in. Showers require tokens, $1=1 token, 3 tokens=6 minutes. Note: sign says 2 tokens gets you 6 min but the shower would not start until we put in 3 tokens! And if you only have $5 bill to give to the machine, then you’re stuck with 2 left over tokens (we just paid it forward) and just lost your money. Pretty pricey if you ask me! I’ve been to CO campgrounds where $1.25 gets you five minutes. No dump station at the campground, but you have to go all the way to the south entrance station to dump and there’s a water fill up point there’s as well.Overall very inconvenient camping experience but the lake view is nice and it’s somewhat close to RMNP and Estes park.
Jun 05, 2022 · LaurenBumpy gravel road, but the sites are nice, and the scenery is pretty. There has been a herd of deer that have been bedding down on the edge of the campground each evening.
May 19, 2024 · David VogelThe roads in the Eagle campground are some of the worse we've experienced in our 20+ years of camping together. The bath house is cleaned, but not maintained. The women's shower ate 2 tokens with no water. They charge $15 to dump, even if you pay to camp. We found that to be a bit excessive with the fees.On the positive side... The views of the lake are spectacular. Each site has a nice fire ring w/grate and a large picnic table. There are quite a few pull-through sites. Views of the stars at night are incredible. Wild turkeys and deer roamed through our site nearly every day.
