Careywood Hollow is conveniently located at Lazy Spade Lane, Athol, ID 83801, USA. Athol is a small, charming community situated in the panhandle of Northern Idaho, making Careywood Hollow an excellent base for exploring the region's many attractions. Its location offers a balance of peaceful seclusion and accessibility to key areas, positioning it centrally between larger towns like Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint, both less than a 30-minute drive away.
The campground’s address on Lazy Spade Lane indicates its setting away from main thoroughfares, contributing to its quiet and remote feel. While secluded, access to the property is generally straightforward. Visitors have noted that the site is easily navigable, even for larger RVs like 21-foot Class B campers or 30-foot motorhomes, with "plenty of room to maneuver." However, it's advised to arrange a meet-up with the hosts before entering the property, and some paths leading to the site might involve an incline, such as a "12% grade hill," so drivers of larger rigs might want to review a YouTube video provided by the hosts if concerned.
This strategic location near major travel routes, combined with its tucked-away setting, ensures that guests can easily access popular destinations like Silverwood Theme Park (approximately 11 miles away), Farragut State Park (about 8 kilometers away), and the vast recreational opportunities of Lake Pend Oreille (around 15-20 minutes away), while still returning to a peaceful and private sanctuary at the end of the day.

Careywood Hollow Reviews
I was traveling through northern Idaho last week and found this fantastic campsite on Hip Camp. Super host John was very accommodating and the site was perfect. I was driving a 21-foot class B camper and had plenty of room to maneuver. The site would easily accommodate a pretty large rig. There was power and water on site and a very clean (and new) pit toilet. I stayed a few days and will definitely be back.
Jul 15, 2024 · Eric LaFontaineWe traveled to Idaho in our 30 foot motorhome. We booked Carrywood Hollow and my gosh what a beautiful stay we had. My cousin and his wife joined us on their motorcycle. The cabin and bath house were lovely accommodations for them and we stayed in our self contained RV. I cannot say enough about what wonderful hosts John and Colleen were. I would highly recommend this beautiful place. What a wonderful way to get away from it all. But if you do need cell service our phones worked great on Verizon.
