Whether you are a dedicated boulderer, a history enthusiast seeking ancient pictographs, or simply a traveler passing through West Texas, this campground offers essential services and a welcoming community atmosphere.
The facility is tailored to accommodate both traditional tent campers and RV travelers, providing the necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable stay despite the rugged desert setting. The environment here is respectful, community-oriented, and focused on providing a clean, affordable lodging experience for all guests, particularly the many rock climbers who visit the region for its world-class bouldering opportunities. It stands as a reliable and trusted camping option right on the doorstep of one of Texas's true natural treasures.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1NOTE: This is Hueco Mountain HUT, business parking lot/camp sites before Hueco Tanks State Park (NOT the park, but close). Nice, friendly, clean, very affordable (not posting rate here in case it changes)Pack your own trash out. There are showers, restroom. Wifi for a fee, I just use my data. Sometimes poor cell reception, but it works. Phone calls work fine, data is hit or miss.Mostly rock climbers, but everyone fits in, welcome. Be respectful and clean up after yourself and all is good.We LOVED our stay here (approx 2 weeks)Regarding other review of 'hard ground, rocks', it's good to always prepare for any ground-type while knowing you're heading out camping, especially tent. We use several layers of cushion under tent and I side. We were very comfortable. Highly recommend this place!*owner gave me permission to photo property
February 23 · Ka FalconBest place to rent out any equipment you will need during your time at Hueco! The staff is absolutely incredible and very knowledgable with the surrounding areas. Just a heads up: This is not the camping area itself, but instead an area to rent or buy items. The camp is a few yards away. Overall, a great environment and one that keeps people coming back to Hueco.
September 19 · Edgar Loyathis place is amazing! they saved our climbing trip. we realized we forgot a pair of shoes and had no time to turn back. but we were able to pick up a pair here and ended up having a fantastic day of climbing! the owner Lowell was really nice and came to unlock the shop for us even though we didn’t call ahead and it was 8am. great gear for an even greater price. can’t recommend more.
June 10 · jenna shervanickAffordable camping, convenient location, shower and toilets, an ecclectic gear shop, bouldering pad rental, a good place to meet climbers and guides.
February 19 · Ross AndreaBest campground in the Valley! Been coming here for 3 years. Great sense of community, awesome shower with great water pressure and heat, as well as the most affordable camping I've run across while traveling. High quality, locally made gear at great prices as well.
