Camper Resorts of America

375 Ramona Expy, Perris, CA 92571, USA

3.0
The place is a dump. $1,800 to move in and $600 rent including electricity, that’s why people are here. No WiFi, no public Restrooms and people are literally pooping and urinating in public here. The laundry room has 2 washers working sometimes for over 200 people. The front gate key you pay $40 for, is always broken. Police are here frequently as are Paramedics for the dead and ill. The RV park does nothing, neither does the Housing Commission, Department of Health or Social Services. There are homeless living in makeshift tents here. They are bathing in the yards with hoses. All true. There is no longer trash pickup, you have to take it to the locked storage yard only open during your working hours of 8-11 and 3-5, 2 days a week. As soon as I can save enough I’m out of here. It’s a step above homelessness, and they’re right outside my bedroom window, often dealing drugs. - Marsha Delozier

Camper Resorts of America Introduce

For Californians considering an extended stay or seeking a budget-conscious option for their RV in the Perris area, Camper Resorts of America offers a distinctive choice. Located at 375 Ramona Expy, Perris, CA 92571, this park primarily caters to long-term residents, providing a practical solution for those seeking affordable living with their RVs in Southern California. It's often chosen for its economical pricing, especially for those looking to manage living costs in a high-cost region.

Camper Resorts of America is a large park designed for functionality. While it might not align with the typical "resort" experience, its value proposition often lies in its competitive monthly rates, which include electricity. This pricing structure is a significant draw for many residents. Visitors should note that the park's primary focus appears to be on providing basic, long-term RV living, rather than offering extensive recreational amenities or a luxurious atmosphere. As such, expectations should be aligned with a more communal and independent living arrangement.

Situated in Perris, the park provides accessibility to local points of interest, including the nearby Lake Perris and Perris Auto Speedway. For those who prioritize affordability and a straightforward place to park their RV, particularly for extended periods, Camper Resorts of America aims to fulfill that fundamental need. It serves a specific segment of the RV community, offering a roof over one's head at a price point that is often difficult to find elsewhere in the region.

Location and Accessibility

Camper Resorts of America is located at 375 Ramona Expy, Perris, CA 92571, USA. This address places it in the city of Perris, which is part of the Inland Empire region of Southern California. Its position along the Ramona Expressway provides a degree of accessibility for RVs and other vehicles, though it's important to approach with current knowledge of traffic and local conditions.

The park is situated between the communities of Riverside and Sun City. For those traveling on major freeways, it can be accessed from the I-215 freeway. From the junction of I-215 and Ramona Expressway, one would typically travel about 1.5 miles east on Ramona Expressway to reach the park. This makes it a feasible location for individuals working in or around the Inland Empire, or those seeking a base while exploring the wider Southern California region.

One of the notable aspects of its location is its proximity to specific local attractions. Camper Resorts of America is located within walking distance of Lake Perris, a popular spot for fishing, boating, and other outdoor activities. It is also situated next door to the Perris Auto Speedway, which can be a draw for motorsports enthusiasts. While these nearby attractions offer recreational opportunities, campers should be aware that the park itself is primarily an RV residential park, and the immediate surroundings might reflect a more utilitarian urban edge rather than a pristine natural setting. Accessibility within the park for daily trash disposal might also be limited to specific hours, requiring residents to plan their routines accordingly.

Services Offered

Camper Resorts of America primarily caters to long-term residents and focuses on providing essential services for RV living. Based on available information and common practices for parks of this nature, the services typically include:

  • Full Hookups: The park offers a significant number of RV spaces (over 100, some sources indicate 255 sites) that typically come with full hookups, including 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections at each site. This is a primary draw for residents seeking self-contained living.
  • Electricity Included: A key aspect of the pricing structure at this park is that electricity is often included in the monthly rent, which can be a substantial cost-saving for long-term RVers.
  • Laundry Facilities: An on-site laundry room is available for residents. However, some reports indicate that the functionality of machines (e.g., only two washers working sometimes for a large number of residents) and conditions (e.g., very hot) may vary.
  • Swimming Pool: The park does feature a swimming pool. Reviews suggest its cleanliness can be inconsistent, so it may be "hit or miss" on any given day.
  • RV Storage: Some sources mention RV storage as an available amenity, which can be useful for residents.
  • Keyed Front Gate: The park operates with a front gate that requires a key or code for access, implying a level of security. However, reports suggest the gate mechanism may sometimes be broken.
  • Trash Disposal: Trash disposal is handled through a designated, locked storage yard. Access to this yard may be limited to specific hours, often during typical working hours on certain days of the week, requiring residents to plan their trash disposal accordingly. There are reports of a lack of regular trash pickup.
  • No Public Restrooms/Showers: Critically, according to some recent resident reviews, public restrooms and showers may not be functional or accessible. Campers should be prepared to be fully self-contained within their RVs for these facilities.
  • No Wi-Fi: Reports indicate that Wi-Fi is generally not available, meaning residents should plan for their own internet access solutions.
Features / Highlights

Camper Resorts of America's primary features and highlights revolve around its affordability and functional approach to long-term RV living in the Perris area of Southern California.

  • Affordable Long-Term Rates: The most significant highlight is its cost-effectiveness, with monthly rates reportedly around $600 including electricity, along with a move-in fee. This makes it one of the more budget-friendly options for extended RV stays in the region.
  • Proximity to Lake Perris: The park is within walking distance of Lake Perris State Recreation Area, offering easy access to activities such as fishing, boating, hiking, horseback riding, and rock climbing for those willing to venture out.
  • Next to Perris Auto Speedway: Its immediate proximity to the Perris Auto Speedway is a unique feature, making it highly convenient for motorsports fans or participants in events at the track.
  • Spacious Park Layout: Described as a "spacious park," it has numerous RV spaces, potentially offering a degree of room between sites, though this can be offset by high occupancy and long-term setups.
  • Friendly Residents: Some reviews note that the people living in the park are friendly, suggesting a sense of community among the long-term residents.
  • Access to Nearby Cities: Being in Perris, it provides relatively convenient access to other Inland Empire cities like Riverside, and is within a reasonable drive to major Southern California destinations like Anaheim (Disneyland), offering potential for off-site entertainment and services.
  • Basic Amenities for RVs: While not luxurious, the park does offer essential full hookups (electricity, water, sewer), which are fundamental for RV comfort and long-term stays.

In a region where housing costs can be prohibitive, this park provides a functional and economically viable place to live in an RV, serving as a transitional or long-term home base.

While the park may not offer the typical "resort" amenities or pristine conditions often associated with higher-end RV parks, its value proposition is clear: affordability and essential full hookups. For residents who are self-sufficient in their RVs and prioritize cost savings, the park's basic framework might be exactly what they need. Its proximity to Lake Perris and the Perris Auto Speedway also provides local recreational outlets for those interested in outdoor activities or motorsports, adding a layer of convenience for residents.

However, it's crucial for locals considering this option to approach it with realistic expectations, understanding that it caters to a specific, budget-conscious demographic. For Californians seeking a no-frills, affordable, and practical place to park their RV for an extended period in the Inland Empire, Camper Resorts of America can serve that fundamental purpose. It provides a unique housing alternative for those navigating the economic realities of Southern California.
