Camp Cardinal RV Resort Reviews
We’ve been seasonal guests at Camp Cardinal for 3 years now, and we absolutely love it here! Since Stephanie and Rudy became involved as co-owners, we’ve noticed so many positive changes happening around the campground — it’s clear they truly care about the place and the people. The POOL is the best part of this little campground! 2 water slides, kid splash area, it’s such a fun part of your stay. The new ice cream shop and camp store are such fun additions and make our weekends feel even more special. This place really is a little slice of heaven on the water — we especially enjoy taking our boat out from the ramp and spending relaxing days on the river.Of course, like any campground, there are things that are still a work in progress, but the improvements we’ve seen over time make us confident that it’s only going to get better. Give Camp Cardinal a try — you’ll quickly see why it’s become our favorite camping spot in Gloucester, VA!
Jun 01, 2025 · Brittany HarrisCamp Cardinal has been a great place, but the owners inherited more problems than they realized. The good part is that things are improving. The water & sewers are much more reliable. It will take a while to become perfect, but steps are finally being made. This campground is very family friendly. Watching the young ones on the bouncy pillow is great. There are weekly activities for children & adults. The ice cream is great, I understand a pizza shop is coming soon.Camp Cardinal is near so many historical sights. There is so much to do. If you have been here before, please try again. It will keep improving. If you haven't been here, give Camp Cardinal a chanceI LOVE IT HERE!!!
Jun 03, 2025 · Lizabeth FarleyWe camped with our RV at Camp Cardinal in May and stayed at one of the dog park campsites. The site was level and had full hookups, which were all functioning as they should, and has a small private fenced area with a picnic table, fire ring, and dog cleanup bags/pail. We liked being able to let our dogs out in the small fenced area, however, the area was very muddy. We would have enjoyed the fenced area more if there was grass. The campground overall has a ton of great amenities for families. We loved the River Mutt ice cream shop and enjoyed the arcade (except that on our second trip into the arcade, someone appeared to have taken the air hockey puck!). The outdoor pool area and playground options were great as well. There is also kayak and paddleboat rental, but we did not have time for those on this trip. There were many fun activities for kids on Saturday, but the LOUD music went on until 11pm and we could hear it throughout the campground, which wasn't great for sleep for our kids. We would appreciate quiet hours starting earlier than 11pm. Also, there are biting midges that come out the in early morning and evening hours -- be sure to cover up and/or use bug spray! Overall, this is a beautiful campground with lots of fun amenities and we look forward to returning.
Jun 03, 2025 · Sydney Miller MilbertBeen staying here for two weeks now. The management is otherworldly in the way they approach customer service. I don’t believe there’s an employee here who wouldn’t give the shirt off their back to anybody here. Cory and Tiffany have done a fantastic job managing the campground. This family oriented environment truly is one of a kind. I highly recommend staying here whenever you get the chance.
Jun 01, 2025 · Joshua HarlowMy family and I stayed a few days at Camp Cardinal during the Summer. Our site was level and shaded. Plenty of room for ourn35 foot travel trailer and truck. The bath house was nice and clean. The park was clean. The pools were fantastic and provided days of fun and relaxation for all of us. We'll be returning in the future.
