Brumbley's Family Park Campground

3.0
Water, sewer & electric are on the wrong side of the campers and water is right in front of where your camper steps come out. The campsite was big and very quiet. Nice people and dog friendly, plenty of places to walk inside campground. Borders a National Wildlife Refuge. You can kayak right from the campground but the creek entrance is shallow so we walked our kayaks through to the beautiful pond. We would stay there again. Only issue was that the hookups are wrong for campers to hook up to. Very good water pressure. Close to beaches. The permanent abandoned site next to us was an eyesore and they have a few abandoned campers here and there.Sewer hook ups are about a foot off the ground making dumping a hassle. There were bees under the gazebo flooring wood. They need to clean up the campsites a little more. Permanents run down.Upside the pool is beautiful. - Valerie

While some reviews highlight areas for improvement, such as maintenance and specific hookup configurations, and a lack of dedicated amenities like a dog park or community space, it's important to weigh these against the overall value proposition. The price point, which some reviews mention, should be considered in the context of what the campground offers: a quiet, natural setting with direct access to a wildlife refuge and water for kayaking, rather than a full-service RV resort. For local Delawareans who prioritize a serene environment, proximity to nature, and the ability to bring their pets, Brumbley's Family Park Campground remains a viable and convenient option for a traditional camping experience close to home. Its proximity to Delaware's popular beaches also means you can easily combine a peaceful camping trip with a day out by the ocean, making it a versatile choice for a local staycation.
