It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the tranquility of a well-maintained campground while still being just a short drive from the vibrant charm of Georgia's Golden Isles. This article will provide a comprehensive look at Blythe Island Regional Park, highlighting why it’s a top choice for locals looking to explore their home state.
Blythe Island Regional Park is more than just a campground; it’s a sprawling 1,100-acre public park managed by Glynn County with support from Georgia's Department of Natural Resources. This extensive park environment ensures that campers have access to vast green spaces, diverse ecosystems, and a variety of recreational opportunities right at their doorstep. The campground itself is noted for its spacious sites, offering a mix of pull-through and back-in options, many with full hookups. While some sites may not offer complete seclusion, they are often designed with enough space and vegetation to provide a comfortable camping experience. The friendly staff and well-maintained facilities consistently receive praise from visitors, contributing to a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere.
Blythe Island Regional Park is officially located at 6616 Blythe Island Highway, Brunswick, GA 31523, USA. While some older GPS systems might recognize "Sam Coffer Rd," the current official address is the one to use for accurate navigation. This prime location places it strategically within South Georgia's coastal region, making it incredibly accessible for many residents.
The park is conveniently situated just minutes from I-95 at Exit 29, which means easy access for travelers coming from both north and south. For Georgians, this translates to manageable drive times: it's roughly an hour's drive south of Savannah and about an hour north of Jacksonville, Florida. This makes it an ideal stopover for those traveling along the I-95 corridor or a fantastic weekend getaway for residents of Southeast Georgia. Furthermore, its proximity to major coastal attractions like St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island – both within a 30-minute drive – is a significant advantage. This allows campers to enjoy the peacefulness of the park while still having quick access to historic sites, beautiful beaches, dining, and shopping opportunities on these popular islands.

Blythe Island Reviews
Spacious sites, but not real private. Good mix of pull throughs and back in sites. As far as I could tell, all are full hookup. 50/30 amp electric, 2 water spigots. Staff are very friendly, office sells ice and propane. Several miles of hiking/biking trails, a small fishing lake, and a small marina. St. Simons and Jekyll Islands are within a 30 minute drive.

Jun 21, 2025 · The Whole 9 Handyman Services LLCOne of our favorite stops. Reasonably good sized sites, clean bathroom facilities and the friendliest staff around. Also it is a domestic rabbit refuge, while they won't let you pick them up, they will eat out of your hand.
