★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Large clean areas- picnic areas, bathrooms, camping spots- all was very nice. Several handicap accessible areas with rails and ramps. New and updated. Make sure to bring bug spray or bug screen. There's lots of birds, blackberries raccoons opossum bunnies armadillo's to go look at along the road at night. Only saw a bunny and an owl near the camp sites.
June 01 · Karen WesterThis is a "very"small campground with only 32 sites in one loop➰. Two of which are occupied by the campground hosts. 🧐 The remaining 30 are booked every weekend. All the sites are 30/50a⚡ and water 💦 and sewer.💩I like a campground with a paved main road and gravel covered sites👍🏻 however these sites are 90° to the road, which makes it difficult to back in 😬 without pulling forward into the site across from you. Especially if you have a long trailer. However they are level☑️The grills ♨️are kept super clean! The cleanest I have seen anywhere. 😃 This is due to a particular host who takes a wire brush to them. 🙂↕️Something I've never seen before in a campground are hammock posts.😲 Large 6 x 6 posts with eye bolts!Brilliant 🥳A favorite evening activity here is watching the bats fly out of the box about an hour after sunset 🦇🦇.There's also a big owl and hangs out in one of the trees right overhead.🦉It's also a way for the campers to get to know each other.🫱🏻🫲🏼 It is a very small community. They sell firewood here as well for $6 a bag, just under a dollar per piece of wood! 🤑
May 16 · Michael ScottGeneral Impression:This is a quiet campground with over 1K acres of green space and trails to explore.Campground Description: The campground has one large loop with a total of 36 back in sites. It has a few tents sites and horse sites with limited hookups. The maximum vehicle length for this park is 40 feet. It has a narrow one-way road around the loop and while a storm took out most of the large trees a few years ago, there are still a few posts that make this a little challenging to navigate with a big rig.Campsite #36The campsites are gravel back in and most are wide enough to park your vehicle next to your trailer.Ours did require a fair bit of leveling, but most in the campgrounds seemed fairly level. The hookups depend on what sites you book. The campground sites have full hookups with thirty and fifty amp #thifty, plus water and sewer. The horse sites do not have sewer, but they do offer water and electric. The tent sites are just camping pads, but they do have bathrooms very close with a water spigot available.Every site has a picnic table, a grill, and a fire ring with layover grill attachment. They also offer posts to allow you to put up a hammock. They don’t offer propane refill and the closest location is Mccoy’s in Marianna about 6 miles away. They have a dump station towards the entrance of the park near the group camping sites. No wifi. Both Verizon and Starlink were fast enough for streaming and video conferencing.Noise Level & StargazingIt was super quiet at this campground with plenty of wildlife to see including birds, deer, and even armadillo! They have beautiful views of the sky at night with limited light pollution for stargazing.Amenities:They had dumpsters easily located at the entrance to the main campground and another at the horse/tent area.Laundry: They had 3 washers and 2 dryers, unfortunately only 1 washer was working. The cost is $2 per cycle and they don’t have a change machine so bring your quarters! They don’t have a pool or a playground, but they do offer a natural swimming hole.It is a natural swimming hole which means it has plants growing on the bottom, and it’s going to change in color if it has recently rained. So it may be brown when you visit.Other facilities: They offer kayaking and paddleboarding as well as hiking, biking, and horse-riding trails.Even some geocaching!Camp store: There is no camp store, but they do offer firewood for sale for $6/bundle. They have a Dollar General about 6 miles away.Amazon Locker: There are no Amazon lockers in this area, but they do have a UPS store in Marianna.Camp staff interactions: The camp hosts were friendly and helpful.Reservation process: The reservation process is online and the website is user friendly. We feel the value is still pretty good even without the full hookups at our site. I just hate the add on fees!
June 24 · TodayIsOurAdventureThe campsites have all been upgraded with pea gravel, and a few are fully paved. Every site has a new power pedestal and sewer hookup, which is rare for a state park campground. The only negative is that they lost a lot of tree cover due to hurricane Michael and there is very little shade. It will take some time for the newly planted trees to mature. The water in the Blue Hole spring is also not blue, but brown. Maybe another effect of Michael. It is refreshing though, especially when the heat index was over 100 degrees during our stay.Definitely make time for the cave tour!
July 02 · Bruce RichardsWe did not stay in the campground but we were in the park for about 2 months. The campground is a great campground as the sites are very clean, flat and the host are extremely friendly. The comfort station has washer and dryers along with full service bathrooms and showers. Great walking paths and water scenes. Fishing just down the path and a natural swimming hole for use.
