I am not so convinced as Dawn is about this site. That it exists ,,, definitely! Finding someone to actually rent you a site may challenging. This five site RV park should be RV only and it looks like someone's side business. It also right up against the highway. Maybe worth a night's stay but I would not count on it being open.Since the owner of Black Shadow replied to me and quickly I am going to change my rating from two to three stars. The reason being is the customer service and attention to their business. I have three questions 1, do you have showers and toilets accessible 24hours ? 2. do you allow tents at your campground? 3. Are you open year round? - Den Usa

Black Shadow Camping Introduce

For Colorado locals, finding a convenient, affordable, and safe spot for an overnight RV stay, especially when traversing our beautiful state, can be a practical necessity. Black Shadow Camping in Naturita, Colorado, emerges as a straightforward option designed primarily for RV travelers. While it may not offer the expansive wilderness experience of some larger campgrounds, it provides essential full hookups and a basic, level site for those looking for a practical stopover. It represents a different kind of camping convenience – one focused on utility and accessibility within a small, welcoming Colorado town. For those passing through or needing a reliable place to rest their RV, Black Shadow Camping offers a no-frills, functional solution.

Black Shadow Camping appears to operate as a focused, perhaps even a "side business" as one reviewer noted, concentrating on meeting the core needs of RV travelers. This isn't a sprawling resort with extensive recreational facilities on-site; rather, it’s a compact five-site RV park that prioritizes the fundamentals: affordability, safety, and full hookups. Its location right up against the highway, while potentially impacting noise levels, also signifies its extreme convenience for those on the go. For RV owners in Colorado who prioritize a quick, easy, and fully serviced stop over a deeply immersive nature experience, Black Shadow Camping fits the bill. It's a pragmatic choice for a night's stay or a short visit to the Naturita area.

Despite some initial reservations about its operational consistency, the owner's responsiveness and attention to customer feedback are noteworthy. This commitment to customer service, even for a smaller operation, is a positive indicator and suggests a dedication to the business. This responsiveness can be a significant factor for travelers, as knowing that inquiries will be addressed promptly provides a level of reassurance. While some questions, such as the availability of 24-hour showers and toilets, tent allowances, and year-round operation, might need direct confirmation, the willingness of the owner to engage with feedback speaks to a desire to provide a positive experience for their guests.

The true value of Black Shadow Camping for locals often lies in its practical advantages within its specific niche. It offers a safe environment, which is always a top priority for travelers. The availability of full hookups (electric, water, sewer) is a considerable convenience for RVs, eliminating the need for extensive self-sufficiency for a short stop. Furthermore, its integration into the small town of Naturita means that basic necessities are just a walk away. This accessibility to groceries, liquor, and even a part-time diner adds a layer of practicality that large, remote campgrounds often cannot offer. It provides a simple, utilitarian base camp for exploring the charm of Naturita and its immediate surroundings.

In summary, Black Shadow Camping is best understood as a functional RV park designed for convenience and affordability for those passing through or staying briefly in Naturita. While it presents itself as a basic, no-frills option, its full hookups, safe environment, and direct access to town amenities make it a valuable resource for Colorado RV enthusiasts looking for a practical overnight solution.
