It’s designed to be a four-season recreational haven, aiming to cater to a variety of interests, from serene lake activities in the summer to thrilling snowmobiling in the winter. As Maine locals, we often seek out spots that truly embody the spirit of our state—places where we can escape the everyday, connect with nature, and create lasting memories with family and friends. Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds positions itself as one such place, promising "modern comfort" amidst the natural beauty of Pleasant Lake.
Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds is conveniently located at 33 Birch Point Lane, Island Falls, ME 04747, USA. This placement offers excellent accessibility for Maine residents, being situated just off I-95. This makes it a relatively straightforward drive from many parts of the state, minimizing travel time and maximizing your vacation enjoyment. The proximity to a major interstate is a significant advantage, particularly for those towing RVs or looking for an easy journey to their destination. Island Falls itself is a charming town in northern Maine, providing a gateway to the vast natural landscapes and recreational opportunities that Aroostook County is famous for.
The campgrounds' location on the shores of Pleasant Lake is a key highlight. Pleasant Lake is known for its crystal-clear waters and gentle breezes, making it ideal for various water activities. This direct lake access is a huge draw for those who love to swim, boat, or fish. Beyond the immediate lake, the surrounding area offers ample opportunities for exploring Maine's wilderness. In the summer, hiking and ATV riding are popular. Come winter, the location provides direct access to over 100 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, making it a fantastic base for snowmobiling enthusiasts. While the convenience of being close to I-95 is a plus, it is important for prospective campers to manage expectations regarding noise levels, as some past visitors have noted traffic sounds from both internal campground traffic (ATVs, trucks) and the nearby road. However, for many, the ease of access and the wide array of activities available right from the site make it a prime choice for a Maine getaway.

Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds Reviews
Was charged cabin price for a basic tent site. Campground is noisy due to constant truck and ATV traffic in the campground plus there is no vegetation between sites or the road to block road traffic noises and the owners dog barks a lot. Lake access appears limited unless you rent a cabin and seasonal camper trailers are literally placed end to end so there's no privacy. Not worth the money.
Jun 07, 2025 · Michele GagnonWe had family come in from out of town and figured we would take them here for a good fish dinner. The food itself was fair, however the service was by far probably the worse I have ever experienced. We stood there for 10 min before the rude waitress walked by and said go ahead and sit down. We waited for an hour to get our food and that was the last time we seen the rude blond. Meanwhile the owner walked by several times while we sat there with empty glasses, but he was too busy talking with his local buddies. Long story short it sucked! Worse $150 I've ever spent!!
Aug 06, 2024 · R FWe stayed one night. Nice place to visit. The view of the river was great. The only problem is no easy access for wheelchairs. No handle bars to bathrooms and showers. It should have sensor lights at night outside of the bathroom area.
Aug 22, 2024 · Rosa CrespoWhat an amazing place to stay! I had a cabin not right on the lake but close enough. Very good people running the place and super quiet. The restaurant had great food. Yes, I had to wait a few but I understood the reason why and on top of that I had a great view of the water while waiting for my food. A little on the pricey side for some but well worth it. I came right at the end of summer, so I was still able to rent some kayaks. All around a great place to visit! I will definitely be coming back.
Oct 24, 2023 · jessica palagoniaI loved the place. Owners were great and the beagle who runs the place is a trip. He is funny and friendly, played with my dog and they stole a steak from me but I couldn't stop laughing at the two thieves cause they had no remorse . I never saw two delinquents have so much fun. Beagle came every day to play with my dog , who missed her friends at the dog park so she really enjoyed him. The food is great, the resort is beautiful with bald eagles fishing right in the cove. Kayaks for rent, clean showers and laundry and lots of kids and local families so the atmosphere is very friendly. Yet at night everybody quiets down, no drunks or loud music. I stayed 3 weeks while exploring the area and fishing. I will go back this year.
