This is a great state park. The trout fishing is the biggest attraction for this park but there are also features worth going for A well. It has plenty of good trails. It is a good starting point for float trips on the Niangua River. There are a lot of campsites for tent camping and for RV's. One section has full hookups with 50 amp electric. There are a lot of cabins available to rent too. It has a newly built splash pad designed for kids ages 5-12. Playground equipment is nearby. It is a beautiful park that is very well maintained and kept clean.
Jun 18, 2025 · Dave BowmasterThis was a beautiful campground. I like how it has five separate campgrounds and none of them are very large. It makes for a more natural and cozy atmosphere and feeling. Also of course the rest of the state park is beautiful as well. And if you want fishing and amazing spot to go.Edit: update after going again during the winter. We stayed in campground one because it is the only one available. We were able to make reservations online before arriving. One bad thing about campground. One is there is only one toilet. Well that was not a problem when we went because there was only four campers total. I imagine it would be a problem during the regular season and there would be a line quite often.
Dec 16, 2024 · Nathan PowersIf you like fly fishing, this is the place for you! Catch & release events, cabins, small orderly RV campground with full hookups and a heated bathroom. Many wonderful fishing spots.I stayed here one night before launching for a float on the Niangua River. The RV site was quiet, bathroom and shower clean and warm.We were allowed to park our cars near the boat ramp while we did a 3 day float, taking out at Leadmine. We chose to camp on gravel bars but there are private campgrounds down river that you should consider.
