Beechnut Family Campground Reviews
This was the best weekend. This place was absolutely amazing and perfect for what my wife Ann and I wanted to do…relax and recharge our bodies and minds. It is beautiful, quiet and absolutely amazing. Wonderful host, and hostess. They did do have a pool, ping pong, fishing pond and other things to do that look amazing, but we just wanted to relax, and rest and this was the perfect spot to do just that. Met some real wonderful people, took a couple of lovely walks, and enjoyed every minute. Hated to leave this morning, but this is definitely a great place to be and we will put it on our list of places to return to in the future.
Jul 14, 2024 · Jim HocumWe kept a permanent spot for 2 seasons and loved every bit of it. All the seasonal campers became a big family. Owners are very gracious. Lots of memories made there with all the families and kids. Evenings around the fire pit, our “Committee” saw everything! 🤣 We all looked forward to every Friday through Sunday up at the camper from April to Halloween. Didn’t get any better than we had it at Beechnut!
Jun 06, 2024 · Steve HeineNeeded a place to stay for one night as we were passing through in our camper conversion van. Todd was very nice and accommodating. Campground is very peaceful and beautiful with green rolling hills, a pond and ducks. Clean bath/showers with HOT water. Will definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

Jun 10, 2025 · Elizabeth LaddNestled just below the foothills of Virginia this quiet peaceful campground exist! Tucked far enough off the beaten path you have all the peace and quiet you could ask for.Todd and his wife are so friendly and helpful. We were on site #48 and one of the three ponds were just steps from our door. The pool is great and they have a nice playground for the kiddos. Not very far from Mt Airy (little Mayberry) which is a must to see. Lots of shops and great places to eat. Snappys Lunch Counter has the famous fried pork chop sandwich. Be prepared to wait in line there, it's very popular. LEONS is also a great place to eat. If you enjoy antiques, shopping for clothes, candy stores and wine the town has you covered. Don't miss the whittler's wall. The famous folks of Mt Airy are in statue form completely made from bricks. For $50.00 per person you can ride in one of the old Police cars for a tour. Need a haircut then definitely stop by Floyd's barber shop💈the Andy Griffith boyhood home is there as is a Museum.Olympia Family Restaurant is another great place to eat.We will definitely be going back to this campground. This is not a negative comment but you will need bug spray. I guess because of the pond the mosquitoes are terrible but will not keep us from going back. Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring. There is wifi too. Make sure you have the code to the gate as they lock it down at 9:00 pm and opens back up around 7:00 am.***If you pay cash they will give you a discount off of campsite fee.***Albert and Kay BakerJune 2024
