The proximity to popular North Georgia towns also means that campers can easily venture out to explore local shops, restaurants, and other attractions when they're not enjoying the campground itself.

Bear Creek Campground stands out as a top choice for a number of compelling reasons. Its primary appeal is its commitment to providing a true, rustic camping experience without sacrificing essential comforts. Unlike larger, more commercial campgrounds, Bear Creek offers a more intimate and natural setting. The fact that it is a tent-only campground ensures a peaceful environment, free from the noise of large RVs or motor homes.
One of the most praised aspects is its excellent location for outdoor enthusiasts. The integrated trail system for both hiking and biking is a huge draw. As one reviewer noted, the intense climbs on the biking trails are well worth the thrilling downhill ride. This blend of challenging activity and serene beauty appeals to those seeking both adventure and tranquility. For hikers, the trails offer a beautiful and immersive journey through the forest, making it a perfect spot for day trips or multi-day excursions.
Furthermore, the on-site amenities, while simple, are exactly what a camper needs. The presence of public restrooms with running water is a significant advantage, providing a level of convenience that is highly appreciated after a long day of hiking or biking. The accessibility, even with the small stream crossing, is a testament to the adventurous spirit of the place, and the fact that most cars can manage it makes it less intimidating for those with standard vehicles. The ample fire pits and tent sites also contribute to the overall positive experience, allowing for the classic joys of camping—cooking over an open fire and sleeping under the stars. The pet-friendly and kid-friendly atmosphere also makes Bear Creek an inclusive destination for the entire family. Its unique combination of rustic charm, strategic location, and thoughtful amenities makes Bear Creek Campground a premier choice for anyone looking to experience the best of North Georgia's wilderness.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Awesome camping area you must cross a stream to get to it but I’d say most if not all cars can cross it, I went across in a Honda accord and there were a couple of Prius’ across it too. The tent areas were awesome and plenty of fire pits and of course the restroom being so close is a huge bonus. Beautiful area and the hiking trails are pretty well maintained, lots of downed trees but still gorgeous all the same.
March 07 · Anthony AbracrumbieGreat for a hike or bike day. The camping spots were also awesome. If you're gonna bike, get ready for some intense climbing, but it's worth it for the downhill speed.
June 16 · Chris JohnsonWent out in the evening just to walk around and check this spot out. If you like camping secluded away from the world and connecting with nature this is the spot for you. Beautiful quiet place right along the creek.
April 20 · ann fuchsThis is a great little area for camping. We love coming here but the biggest drawback is the hike in. It's not that far, but if you're used to sites where you park next to a gravel tent spot, then it will feel really far. You have to carry your gear across the bridge and then into the woods a bit to get to the campsites. I highly recommend a little foldable wagon. There are a lot of fire rings made of stones with mostly flat areas around them. The best thing about this location is a tie between the creek and the price - free. There are some little hiking paths you can wander on that follow the creek without going back over the bridge, but I don't know how far they go. We have small kids and they don't want to keep waking after a bit. There are bathrooms by the parking lot so you have to go back over the bridge and they are outhouses. At night if you haven't gone too far in, you can hear the babbling of the creek. We enjoy coming here.
November 18 · Jessica WallI've been camping for a long time up in this area. Good trout fishing as well. Wonderful views!
