Beachcomber Park Reviews
I've been here a couple of times. The staff are great and very accommodating. I was there to fish the lake. They have a nice cleaning station and water access which is all I needed.
May 26, 2025 · Casey JohleI made arrangements to stay at Beachcomber Park with my extended family during the total solar eclipse on April 8 and the preceding weekend. There were 25 of us coming from 5 states, ranging in age from 2 to 90 years old. None of us had ever visited the area around Lake Buchanan before. I can honestly say it was Carlton Davenport who enabled us to get together on that occasion in that place, and who made the experience thoroughly enjoyable for all of us. Since I knew that it would be difficult to find accommodations there close to eclipse day, I started looking 3 years in advance. I called all of the hotels and resorts in the vicinity of the lake. Carlton was the only one who was willing to book a reservation that far in advance. We continued to stay in touch. When I requested additional RV spaces, he was happy to comply. When a cottage became available, he contacted me to ask if I would like to book it. When I asked for help with renting some campers, he referred me to a local business that was able to provide them. When we arrived at the park, we found it was even more pleasant than I expected. Not only is the view by the lake very pretty, but there is a playground with swings and a rope and a tree platform that delighted the young children. Carlton did everything possible to make sure that we felt welcome and comfortable. We all had a very good time, and we had a good view of the solar eclipse. As I got to know him, I found out that Carlton has a few interesting stories to tell. Be sure to ask him to show you his collection of arrow heads.
Apr 14, 2024 · Michael KaplanI took my 19 yr old daughter there for her first tent camping experience; wanted the backup of a cabin in the event of nasty November weather. You could say we wanted to “camp light.” Reviews prompted me to call Carlton for more info. Just like the reviews say, he was very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable about everything we might do or need. Carlton was absolutely awesome on phone and in person. He went out of his way to make our Father/Daughter camping a success. It couldn’t have been to profit off us as we hardly spent anything. I deduce that Carlton is just a friendly and interesting man who likes helping folks enjoy the wonderful area. We caught plenty of fish, enjoyed campfires, and memorable time. Thank You Carlton! God bless you and yours.
Nov 13, 2023 · Justin FosterWe do an annual girls only camping trip every year. This year my sister came across Beachcomber Park and boy are we glad she did. Carlton is the most accommodating host/owner we've ever had anywhere we've stayed. From providing last minute kayaking paddles ( because i forgot 2 sets) to taping the ones I did remember together so we could use our kayaks. To providing us immediate safe shelter (we where tent camping) when a bad storm hit. Before the storm hit he made sure we had water/electricity and anything else at our campsite (overlooking the water). The facilities where so so clean!! The restrooms, laundry room, and property where very clean!! The cabin (The Bluebonnet) was absolutely perfect! It was clean and had everything that you need ( just bring food/drinks). The lake was so nice for kayaking, swimming and fishing. Also everybody staying there was so nice. We highly recommend Beachcomber and we will definitely be back!!Tonya Rogers
May 18, 2023 · Tonya RogersWe absolutely love this campground. It is very well taken care of and the owner is so nice. He goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable and your needs are meet. The fishing is great and you and fish the whole property and not just stuck at one pier. I highly recommend this campgrounds if you are looking for a place within this are. As well the restrooms and laundry rooms are very clean. Everything about this place is wonderful. We will definitely be returning and will tell everyone who is looking to camp in this area that BEACHCOMBER RV PARK IS THE PLACE TO GO!!
