For Missourians seeking an authentic and deeply refreshing outdoor experience, Bay Creek Campground offers a unique immersion into the heart of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. Situated along the stunning Jacks Fork River, this campground is a beloved destination for those who appreciate clear, cool waters and the serene beauty of the wilderness. Unlike more developed sites, Bay Creek embraces a backcountry, limited-development approach, providing a rustic yet well-equipped setting for tent and RV campers alike. Visitors consistently praise the "beautiful Jack's Fork River access point" and the "clear water from a nearby cold spring" that keeps the river inviting even on the hottest days. Whether your passion is fishing for trout, snorkeling in crystal-clear pools, or simply unwinding by the river, Bay Creek offers ample space and diverse opportunities for recreation. It’s a place where you can genuinely disconnect, surrounded by lush canopy and abundant wildlife, creating lasting memories that celebrate the natural grandeur of the Show-Me State.
Location and Accessibility
Bay Creek Campground is located in Summersville, MO 65571, USA, within the expansive Ozark National Scenic Riverways, part of the U.S. National Park Service system. This strategic location places it directly on the Jacks Fork River, a prime spot for river recreation. Access to Bay Creek requires navigating approximately two miles down a gravel "washboard access road," a journey that, while potentially bumpy, is "well worth the trek" for the beauty that awaits. To reach the campground from Eminence, you would typically drive west on Highway 106 for about 9.7 miles, then turn left onto County Road 106-425. From there, you follow the gravel road for just over 2 miles until you arrive at Bay Creek. Despite the rustic access, the campground is considered a drive-in site, allowing both RVs and trailers, as well as tents. Its location ensures a sense of peaceful seclusion, while still being reachable for those seeking an authentic Ozark adventure. Visitors should be prepared for typical gravel road conditions and note that while the campground is generally open year-round, it may temporarily close during or after flooding or severe storms, so checking conditions beforehand is always recommended.

Bay Creek Campground Reviews
Another beautiful Jack's Fork River access point. Clear water from a nearby cold spring feeds into the area, making the waters refreshing on the hottest of days. There wasn't much floating traffic, so it made for a very relaxing day while we fished, snorkeled & explored. While fishing, we caught long-eared sunfish, rock bass, rainbow & brown trout. So many spots to play & check out that it never felt crowded, even though the campground was busy. I'm sure we'll be back on our next trip to the area. Well worth the two mile trek down the washboard access road!

Jul 04, 2025 · Mandrea BurksThe best place to spend your holidays with families and friends. Since no net work there phone and other are no use. So you have no choice but spending time talking , swiming , fishing, camping and paddling boat and other activies. The best thing is warm water.
Jun 04, 2023 · hander205A nice quiet campground at the end of a long windy gravel road. Clean pit toilet but no other improvements except for picnic tables and fire pits.
Feb 10, 2022 · michael mundyGreat place but you need a truck to get through. Also we had a campsite and needed to go to town and when we pulled back up 3 cars was parked at our site they went fishing. It was local which so am I but the entitlement was overwhelming. Also the park ranger will visit you every time asking you a million questions. Other than that it's a great spot . No wifi service tho
