Barton Flats Campground Reviews
Campground Review – Site #37 (Early June Stay)The drive to the campground was absolutely beautiful and surprisingly accessible—any vehicle can make the trip without the need for four-wheel drive, which was a relief. The campground itself is very well-maintained, and the campsites are clean and thoughtfully arranged. I stayed at site #37, which I found to be ideal in terms of layout and location. One of the standout features of this site was the generous spacing between campsites. We enjoyed a sense of privacy, with a large open field behind us and minimal road noise at night, creating a peaceful and quiet environment. The camp hosts were friendly, professional, and attentive to the site’s upkeep and security. Bob, in particular, was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.Cleanliness was top-notch—I would rate it a 5/5. The restrooms were equipped with flush toilets and sinks, and new hot water heaters had just been installed for the showers. Our site was conveniently located near the restrooms and water access. It was level, offered a comfortable amount of shade, and was easy to set up camp on.In terms of pests, I’d give it a 2/5 (5 being terrible amount of bugs). There were a few mosquitoes, but they weren’t much of a bother. We did have a couple of aggressive scrub jays in the area, likely due to a nearby nest, which might not be a common issue for all campers.Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this campground to others looking for a clean, quiet, and well-managed place to enjoy the outdoors
Jun 04, 2025 · Lexi SCamp host misled us by saying he keeps a quiet camp and no one is allowed to play music on loud devices. This was so untrue. Each night was very loud. Some people created a band and had musical instruments. Bring shower shoes. Lots of hair on the floor in the showers. 🚿 some road noise if you’re in that side from racing cars. 🏎️ and bears. But we didn’t see any on our trip. Also the nearest place to get ice is about 15-20 min drive downhill. They lost power one of the days so plan accordingly !!!
Jun 29, 2025 · Melissa VentureNice for what it is. No hookups but clean and safe camping in the woods. Descent bath and restroom facilities. There are several does that fit large rigs. We're 42ft and had no problem.
May 13, 2025 · David JohnsonStayed five nights in site 14. Camp is very clean thanks to the host’s. Bob also gave me great tips on fishing Jenks Lake as well as delivering fire wood every night. Santa Ana river trail is close by and an easy hike with some beautiful vistas. Verizon reception was excellent. Closest store is about 8 miles west on 38 has typical inventory for a country store. Ice ain’t cheap 12.99 for a 20 pound bag but you need it so you pay for it. All in all it’s a great campground
Aug 17, 2024 · Martin HulseNice campground that has access to some of the best hiking around the area and it's at 6,500' MSL so there are chances during the summer that it is tolerable during the day. There is nice dirt road type hike to a lake that is stocked. I was there on a weekend and the the other campers (mainly families and tents) respected the noise hours and the restrooms and showers were clean. Great, friendly hosts who who also sell wood. Convenience store 15 minutes away and places to find a new tent 30 minutes (without traffic). Near a road so expect road noise especially during the day.
