Augusta / Gardiner KOA Journey Reviews
It’s extremely rare to find a KOA cabin that’s technically primitive but with a bathroom in it, especially under 100 bucks! This is an amazing value! The staff are above and beyond friendly and helpful! Grounds are clean and well maintained, and I heard from staff about future projects planned. Family friendly, quiet, and safe. We stayed two nights and enjoyed our stay so much that we actually filmed so much, that we broke up our experience into two vlogs for our channel on YouTube, Hammocks to Coasters. Can’t wait to go back!
May 21, 2025 · Kristina Varnum (Hammocks to Coasters)Spacious and level sites. There is a playground, dog park and hiking trail. The staff was friendly and thecampground is clean, but their women's showers are not.Mold and pink slime in each shower. Their sign on the entrance door to the shower states showers are cleaned daily. I can guarantee you, they definitely are not. The showers need bleach and a good pressure washing or deep clean.
Sep 20, 2024 · A Divine CanineWe like KOA’s because they are usually pretty reliable. The pool was fantastic after a long sticky day of driving. Though the park is built on a steep hill, our site was surprisingly level. I was not impressed by the state of the roads and grounds however. It all had an air of neglect. The walking trail through the woods is a disaster and if it ever was clearly marked with yellow ribbon, that’s been gone for years. There’s a small dog enclosure along with a grassy area at the back of the park. In that area there’s a picnic table that’s been mowed around-never moved, and weeds are 2 feet high under it. It kind of pictures for you the lack of attention to detail-especially for a KOA brand. The staff were fine, but with a little elbow grease this park could easily be great.
Jul 19, 2024 · MaryAnn BenjaminsStayed this weekend. Campground is one mile from ironman bike course, so I woke up early and rode the course for practice. Family friendly, easy check in/set up process, dog park is a nice feature, kids enjoyed the playground and pool. Will be back.
Jul 15, 2024 · Kerri MahoneyThis KOA had a more relaxed feel in contrast to the corporate-y feel of most KOA’s, much to my delight. This medium sized park was on the side of a hill with the full hook up sites cut in to be level. There are both pull through and back in sites. There is a playground and kids game area, and a laundry. The shop was well stocked with snacks and camping essentials. The pool was not open during our visit due to unexpected major equipment issues that they were working to resolve. It will probably be open by the time you visit but call if it’s an issue for you.
