Aquarius Campground and Purple Beach Group Site Introduce
For those seeking an authentic Idaho outdoor experience, look no further than Aquarius Campground and Purple Beach Group Site. Nestled amidst the stunning natural beauty of our beloved state, this campground offers a unique opportunity to disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with nature. Whether you're a seasoned camper or looking for your first memorable outdoor adventure, Aquarius provides a serene and picturesque setting that truly embodies the spirit of Idaho's wilderness.
Located directly on the North Fork of the Clearwater River, the campground is renowned for its wild and remote feel, offering a distinct escape from more crowded recreational areas. The pebbly beach along the river adds a touch of unique charm, inviting visitors to enjoy the water's edge. It's a place where the sounds of the river and the rustling leaves replace the noise of the city, providing a tranquil backdrop for your relaxation and outdoor activities.
Many locals have already discovered the appeal of Aquarius Campground. Its reputation as a beautiful and somewhat secluded spot makes it a popular choice for those in the know. While it offers a genuine wilderness experience, it's also important to be prepared, as its remote nature means certain amenities might differ from what you find in more developed campgrounds. This is part of its charm – a true Idaho gem waiting to be explored.
Accessibility is key for any outdoor destination, and Aquarius Campground is situated on Beaver Creek Rd, Idaho 97530, USA. This location places it firmly within the beautiful natural landscapes Idaho is famous for. For those traveling with RVs, it's worth noting that the campground can be a bit challenging due to its small size and dead-end layout, which might make turning around difficult for larger vehicles. However, for smaller RVs, vans, and tent campers, the accessibility is generally good, leading you directly into a prime outdoor setting. Its proximity to the North Fork of the Clearwater River means you're always just steps away from stunning views and recreational opportunities. While the exact driving conditions can vary depending on the season, the journey itself is part of the adventure, leading you deeper into Idaho's majestic scenery. It’s always a good idea to check local road conditions before heading out, especially during spring thaw or late fall, to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip.
For those who prefer a bit more space or alternative options, the Isabella loop, located to the west of Aquarius, provides an excellent alternative for camping. While it might be dustier, it offers a different kind of experience and is notably close to the absolutely beautiful Isabella hiking trail, presenting another fantastic opportunity for outdoor exploration and enjoying Idaho’s diverse landscapes. This nearby option further enhances the appeal of the area, offering flexibility for different camping preferences and ensuring there's a suitable spot for almost every visitor.
Services Offered:
- Designated campsites for tents and potentially smaller RVs (note: RV turn-around can be difficult).
- Access to the North Fork of the Clearwater River, ideal for fishing, wading, or simply enjoying the view.
- Proximity to natural attractions and hiking trails in the surrounding area.
- Fire rings at individual campsites (where permitted and safe).
- Picnic tables at individual campsites.
- Basic restroom facilities (availability may vary, typically vault toilets in remote campgrounds).
It is important to note that based on past visitor experiences, water at the campground may not always be potable. It's highly recommended that visitors bring their own supply of drinking water or be prepared to filter/treat water from natural sources to ensure their safety and comfort during their stay. This preparation ensures a more enjoyable and self-sufficient camping experience in this beautiful, wild setting.

Beautiful campgrounds, wild and remote with pebbly beach!
Jun 01, 2025 · CJMIt's on the North Fork of the Clearwater River so of course beautiful. We went here July 2023. Campground is small and all spots were taken. Difficult to turn around in RV because dead ends. Water was not potable = maybe bad well? We ended up Camping in free Isabella loop to the west of Aquarius instead. The Isabella loop was dusty but close to the absolutely beautiful Isabella hiking trail. See my reviews their for more information
Jul 31, 2023 · Brenda Boyer KnollCamping. Has minimum restrooms without water. No electric or other hookups. Nice river views. $10 per site, per night.
May 31, 2022 · Doug RoyerI give it 5. Why.... because its not a hotel, its not developed, its closest to wilderness without hiking 5 miles into back country. Clean water. Clear water (no really its crystal clear in summer and fall, and no ounce intended cause its the north fork of the clear water) expect to actually camp if your not in a rv or trailer. Truck bed camping is always a alternative to tents ;)
