Antlers Campground is conveniently located on Antlers Rd, Lakehead, CA 96051, USA. This prime location places it right off Interstate 5, approximately 25 miles north of Redding and easily accessible for many Californians traveling from both northern and central parts of the state. Its position on a bluff above the Sacramento arm of Shasta Lake provides campers with beautiful views of the expansive lake, creating a picturesque backdrop for their stay. While the campground offers stunning lake views, it's important for visitors to note that direct lake access from the campsites themselves is not readily available. Reviewers mention that you can hike down to a spot near camping site 21, but it is described as "a bit steep."
Despite the lack of direct lakeside access from individual sites, the campground's strategic location boasts an adjoining public boat launch right next door. Antlers Campground Reviews
Amazing place to stay and staff is super nice! There's a lot of camp grounds to choose from, whether it's lake view or shady forest. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because there's not really lake access from the camp ground. You can hike down in a spot near camping spot 21, but it's a bit steep. Otherwise, we saw deer eating breakfast, well maintained, and overall an absolutely beautiful place to camp!
Jun 28, 2023 · Jessica FryAntlers is a very special place in my family. It is our home away from home. Lots of memories made here over many years. The only bummer is no lake access from the campgrounds and the pools are ice cold. Last few years we've went the store has been closed which is a huge inconvenience and a total let down since we look forward to their soft serve ice cream cones. We are on our way up as I type this.... see you soon Antlers! Happy Camping everyone 😊
May 22, 2025 · Sabrina MontalvoSad to see there is a two-night mandatory booking, must reserve Friday-Saturday together, can't just reserve Saturday 🙁. I called and found out the weekend I was interested in was unlikely to fill up, and any non-reserved sites will be FF, plus some of the sites are FF all the time and don't reserve. Maybe we will get lucky and find a spot.
Jun 05, 2025 · Elizabeth MenkinSo went up here to get away for a few days, very quiet. So we went up during the week so not so busy. Brandon the camp host was very helpful (had issues outside of camping) in pointing me in the right direction. Plus went out on what you can say...a scavenger hunt. Train comes through 2-3 per night, not bad.You have a table a fire ring at every site. Lake is full don't know when last time it was but it was great to see. If you happen to meet River he's a good guy. Only reason I didn't give 5 ⭐ was the couple of tweekers around the area. But those people are everywhere. Also keep an eye out for as you see Black widow spiders.
Jun 03, 2023 · Dan GrovesWas not what we except but was not a bad spot over all. Just to close to the hwy. The other ppl that stayed at this camp site were very responsible. No one was loud or got out of control. This camp site would always be a good second option when other places are full. The camp host are very nice, friendly & helpful.
