Allegheny River Campground Reviews
The campground is nice, but our experience was not. We stayed at site T7 (tent only) on a holiday weekend. The campground had a special display of fireworks, and we had fun tubing in the creek. Their pool is very nice. We had hoped for a quiet getaway, but this was not the case. Other campers enjoyed playing loud music in the creek, and we were awoken one night at 1 am from loud music within the campground. Be aware that if you stay at site T7, there is a house directly across the creek that was also quite noisy while we were there. We did have a noise issue at 7 am in the morning (quiet hours are supposedly 10 pm to 8 am), but the camp admin responded to my email about that and said they would take care of it. Other mornings were quieter for us. I wish the nighttime quiet hours had been enforced just as quickly. The campground does not have an alcohol policy or guidelines, so I’m quite sure that some of the loud music was a result of the partying that happened at all hours. Not the family environment I was expecting. We also had multiple people walk across our tent site during our stay. They were pulling tubes out of the creek (our site had direct access to the creek) and also to gain access to the house across the creek. Very disrespectful to our space. As much as we enjoyed the creek access, tubing, and pool, the noise disturbances and constant intrusions on our campsite are enough to say that we will not return to this campground. I did email about my experience to the campground, but only received an apology in response. There was no indication that they would follow up with my complaints to reinforce their rules in the future.
Jul 11, 2024 · Shelley MathiasWe spent a wonderful weekend at this campground with our extended family. We rented 2 cabins and 1 cottage. The cabins had bathrooms and slept all 4 of us comfortably. I must say the beds are very uncomfortable, very thin mattress. But all in all, understandable. The cottage had the same types of mattresses but a larger fridge, 2 burner cooktop as well as all of the plates and cooking utensils. You do need to provide your own linens. The campground has a phenomenal pool, mini golf, little peddle cart and really tasty ice cream. We are regular campers and were very impressed with this campground. We did notice full hookup sites which if we came back we would definitely take advantage of. My kids purchased tubes from the shop and did a mini float down the river.Overall this was a very clean, fun place. The staff we encountered was also very friendly and helpful.Recommend a visit to this location.
Jun 28, 2024 · Juli AnneI really loved staying at Allegheny River Campground. It was easy to get to and the sites were good sized. We were on #27 and had a beautiful spot right on the river, complete with a beautiful sound. Our site was partially shaded with some beautiful trees. Campground was very neat and restrooms were clean. We are going back in September. I don't have kids, but there was alot for them to do; pool, splash pad, playground, games. I would highly recommend Allegheny River Campground.

Jun 17, 2024 · 2 Soldiers Moving AdminSo, the first day was fine because it wasn't busy and it was a Thursday. The Splash Pad the kids loved as well as the pool and the rails. Friday is usually check-in day for the weekend and for Saturday activities. It was crazy. Besides, almost everyone was breaking the rules, such as more than 4 on a golf cart and standing on the back instead of sitting. This is bad, especially since they were kids. I saw some people had their own golf cart. Dogs barking all the time, quiet time at 10 which did not happen, walking through people's sites, drunks at bingo which this campsite prohibits alcoholic beverages, campers especially kids not listening and doing whatever with no supervision, people letting their dogs walk wherever. I guess they did not want to go to the dog park. I mean, that is what it's for. People are going more than 5 miles per hour, which is funny and makes no sense because the golf carts go faster than that. People are leaving and coming back at 6 am. I think that most of these people booked online lied about how many people they have. This one unit that was across from use had at least 2 or 3 adults and like 4 plus kids. The cabins have tiny heaters, so bring extra blankets to keep warm. The cabins we were in had no bathrooms. I was disappointed that the mini fridge was just that, a mini fridge with no freezer. It didn't hold my water bottles as they kept falling out. The kids were kinda bored and disappointed as they thought it would be a whole weekend of planned activities. They do have many things for kids to do. Another thing that caught me off guard was safety. As I turned the corner to go to the women's restroom, a man was standing by the door holding the door open, and their were 2 or 3 boys around the age of 4 and older where in the women's rest room. I was caught off guard and wondered why they just didn't go to the men's side with their dad, which was the man that was holding the door to do whatever. There was another man who was always at the bathrooms sitting there on his phone trying to get internet services because internet service and cell service were really bad there. Cell service was basically nonexistent! Try this camp site if you want, but we will not be coming back again. Make sure you take cash unless you want to pay the 4% card fee.
